Wine, Food & Châteaux – It’s a SeaDream Voyage to Bordeaux
(Miami, Florida) - January 12, 2011 — SeaDream I, SeaDream Yacht Club’s 112 guest mega-yacht will sail on a journey rich with history and flavor (as in, fruit-forward flavor) from July 30 – August 6, 2011. Voyage #11128 is a seven-night voyage from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Bordeaux, France. Amsterdam’s historical canal belt and its world-famous museums are well worth a few days of pre-voyage exploration.
Once aboard the intimate, 56-stateroom SeaDream vessel, guests enjoy one day at sea where a visit to SeaDream’s Spa for a Thai massage will ease tired legs and minds. You’ll be feeling like royalty when you arrive at the first port of call; Caen, France, the preferred residence of William the Conqueror and Queen Matilda. Sailing onward, SeaDream calls on St-Malo,France for an overnight stay. St-Malo is a medieval walled city with restaurant-lined squares, in fact one of the highest concentrations of seafood restaurants in Europe (famous for its local oysters). Belle-Île is next on the itinerary, Brittany’s largest island, known for its temperate climate and magnificent coastline of 60 beautiful beaches. Last on the itinerary is La Rochelle, France, a picturesque and historically rich city on the Atlantic coast. SeaDream I then sails 80 km inland from the ocean, up the Garonne River to Bordeaux, France where she’ll moor right in the city centre of “Little Paris”.
