SeaDream Yacht Club recently expanded its Yachting Land Adventures (YLAs) program in the West Indies with a wide selection of new exciting shoreside activities in some of SeaDream’s most beloved destinations. The new selections range from engaging tours and culinary experiences to high adrenaline adventures, offering guests memorable ways to make the most out of each destination. SeaDream’s West Indies is defined by enriching and inspiring experiences both onboard and shoreside.

CuisinArt Resort Cooking Class
The award-winning CuisinArt, Resort and Spa is one of the best-known resorts in Anguilla. This stunning and sprawling beachfront property on Rendezvous Bay is dotted by white, Grecian-like buildings and features numerous amenities, five-star service, including renowned culinary programs available for their guests staying at the resort. Their culinary classes have been listed amongst the 12 Best Cooking Classes available at Hotels Around the World! The menu focuses on fresh local ingredients.
SeaDream has made special arrangements with the CuisinArt, Resort and Spa to offer a Private Cooking Class for a limited number of our guests. Transfer by air-conditioned mini coach to the CuisinArt, Resort and Spa to participate in an educational cooking class. In this class, you will learn about Spanish tapas and their role in Spanish cuisine. Under the guidance of Portuguese Chef Francisco Pico, the Chef de Cuisine, you will don aprons and learn how to make delicious tapas. Afterwards, guests will enjoy the items prepared during the cooking class along with refreshing white sangria.
Firefly Plantation & Sea Salt Tasting
Explore the Firefly Plantation located in the beautiful island of Bequia. Here rustic charm meets island chic in this 20th century property which hosts a plantation, hotel, restaurant, and sea salt producing shop. Built on the foundations of an 18th century estate homestead, the Firefly Plantation is a gem in the countryside. The 30-acre property is a modern working plantation with many fruit and flowering trees. Take a walk through the gentle hillsides with the head gardener as he reveals the history of the gardens and the area. He will also reveal the many different fruits and tropical plants growing on site. You even have an opportunity to sample ripe fruits directly from the trees. The bountiful garden has citrus, plums, breadfruit and mango trees, among others.
At the Firefly Plantation, you will experience a Grenadine sea salt orientation and tasting that will have you thinking differently about sea salt. The natural harvesting of lower-sodium, low-chloride salts with higher mineral proportions and flavored with local natural ingredients creates delicious products for seasoning gourmet cuisine or even for meats on the grill. After the introduction to the Grenadine sea salts, you will return to the Firefly Restaurant where a refreshing fruit drink, made fresh from the garden, will be served as you enjoy the hotel ambiance.
Basse-Terre & It’s Black Cane
This walking tour of Basse-Terre will highlight some of the history and culture of this administrative capital of Guadeloupe, plus visit the cathedral dedicated to Our Lady of Guadeloupe. The building with a baroque façade was built in 1736 and assembled from large volcanic stones. Discover Nolivos Street, the oldest and lively shopping street which includes an indoor market.
Next travel by bus to the Bologne Distillery, featuring an innovative spirit known as the “Black Cane Rum.” Named for the Bologna family that migrated from the Netherlands in the 17th & 18th centuries, this distillery is the oldest distillery and a major rum producer of Guadeloupe. Learn about the distillery’s long history and processing of its sugar cane including the black cane grown from volcanic soil and famous for its aromatic qualities. The volcanic soil, cane varieties, and pure water filtered by the volcanic rocks of the mountain are the base of the Bologna agricultural rum. Enjoy a rum tasting in the gift shop and free time to explore the area before returning to the yacht.
Pompei of the Caribbean Tour
See the “active” Soufriere Hills Volcano on Montserrat from Plymouth port and learn why it may be called the Pompeii of the Caribbean. No visitor to Montserrat should leave without having an encounter with Montserrat’s most captivating phenomena. On July 18, 1995, the volcano, dormant for four centuries, spewed 20 feet of ash over the southern coast. A series of eruptions eventually caused fast-moving cascades of hot gas and rock that buried the once thriving city of Plymouth. Life, as it was, for Montserrat’s 12,000 residents changed forever. On this excursion you will travel to Jack Boy Hill where you can see the volcano and remnants of WH Bramble Airport now completely buried by volcanic lava flows. Then it’s on to a lookout point over Plymouth, which is located in what's called the Exclusion Zone, or Zone V, because this area sits in the path of the greatest current volcanic activity and there is limited public access.
As you make the way to Plymouth you will pass through small villages and stop in Woodlands for a brief moment at Runaway Ghuat, a natural spring that local myth claims you must drink from if you want to return to Montserrat. Before entering Plymouth, you will have a brief “bird’s eye” view stop at Montserrat Springs; a once proud 4-star hotel.
The Spirit of St. Lucia
Your journey will take you through the city of Castries then onto Morne Fortune called the ‘Hill of Good Luck,’ which offers spectacular views of the city as well as its environs. Continue down into the Cul de Sac Valley to the only rum distillery on the island. Here you will see how this heart-warming nectar is produced. The guided tour includes a video presentation and afterwards you’ll see how a village street, spice market and carnival, have been recreated to give an insight into the lifestyle and spirit of St. Lucians.
Your journey has just begun as you depart the rum distillery for a short drive to nearby Marigot for a view of the one of the most sheltered bays in the Caribbean. You will continue onto the Pink Plantation House, where your host or hostess will welcome you with a Caribbean drink upon arrival. Spend time walking around the gardens and grounds and enjoying amazing views of the city and northern landscape. Just when you think it’s coming to an end, a tasting of local rums await on the open balcony, located within the gardens. You tour also includes a tasting of freshly prepared local treats such as accras (fish cakes) and bakes.
