Yachting Land Adventure

Menton and Eze

Travel from Monte Carlo to the last French town before the Italian border – Menton. Renowned for its traditional production of lemons and kumquat citrus fruits, Menton is famous for its limoncello liquor and many lemon-based sweet delicacies. Menton is often nicknamed ‘The Pearl of France’ because it is known as the most beautiful place along the French Riviera. On the slopes surrounding this small town, one can see wonderful gardens arranged mostly between the 1850’s and World War I. After this short drive, you will be invited to taste a local specialty with a drink in a restaurant down-town, in the pedestrian area. A guided tour will familiarize you with the surroundings. During free time, stroll along the promenade or check out the shops in the pedestrian area before boarding your coach and reaching the village of Eze. The Moyenne Corniche provides the only access to the medieval village of Eze, which clings like an eagle's nest to a rock spike towering 1401 feet over the sea. On foot you will enter the 14th century double gateway with crenellations and a sentry walk leading into the steep narrow streets, sometimes running beneath the carefully restored houses which are now smart boutiques or artists' studios. Streets of this town are closed to the traffic and the town can only be explored by foot: Do not miss the magnificent views of the coast from the top. Enjoy the magnificent panorama unfolding beneath your eyes. After some free time here, you will drive back to the ship.
