  • Tangier - Tetouan – The White Dove 79(USD)
    99 spaces remaining

    Description

Discover Tetouan's unique blend of Arabic and Spanish architecture, wander the charming streets of the old medina, and experience the city's rich artisan culture at the Museum of Moroccan Arts. The architecture in Tetouan is a harmonious and fascinating blend of Arabic and Spanish styles, reflecting the town’s bicultural ancestry. Although Spanish is now rarely heard in Tetouan, the Spanish culture still plays a significant part in the life of the city. Andalusian music has remained dominant and trade with Ceuta, the Spanish enclave that is only about 25 miles away, keeps alive the historic links between the Arabic and Spanish culture. Your visit starts with the main gate of the Royal Palace at Place Hassan II, together with some of the Spanish colonial architecture seen in the new town outside the medina around the Place Moulay El Mehdi (which lies just outside the world heritage property). Stroll around town to admire its little white homes representing a mix of Arab and Andalusian cultures, surrounded by lush vegetation. You can wander through the narrow streets of the old medina and souks, discovering all the hidden corners. Stop at a traditional teahouse to enjoy a refreshing glass of mint tea and Moroccan pastries. Conclude your visit of the Medina by an exit from one of its seven decorated gates Bab El Akla, the old town eastern gate looking onto the Museum of Moroccan Arts or Artisan School, where traditional art and craft skills are being kept alive and where the artisans are working on wood painting, embroidery, mosaics, copper, leather, stucco or inlaid wood with the same expertise as their ancestors four centuries ago.

  • Puerto Banus - Ronda Wine Experience 249(USD)
    30 spaces remaining

    Description

Discover one of Spain’s oldest cities, located in the Andalusian mountains and 750 meters above sea level, Ronda stills displays aspects of its ancient Roman origins. This historical town has been a much loved destination for many painters, architects and creative artists; including Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway. The best way to explore Ronda is on foot and throughout your guided walking tour you will pass several of the city’s highlights; including the ‘Puente Nuevo’ (New Bridge), which alongside the bull ring is said to symbolize the soul of the city. Having visited the city center, you will discover one unique wine cellar in the area. “Descalzos Viejos” (the aged barefoot monks), was founded in the year 2000 and specially restored for the purpose of wine-making by the architects Francisco Retamero and Flavio Salesi and their respective wives, Chelo Porras and Mariela Grana. It is situated in the chapel of a sixteenth century Trinitarian monastery. In this building, perched on the higher slopes of the impressive Tajo of Ronda (the famous Gorge), they make wine from the 5.5 hectares of vineyards that have been planted on this property, and other 5 hectares in ward. During the visit, you will taste three types of wines, accompanied with some snacks.

  • Puerto Banus - Mijas & Modern Masterpieces 149(USD)
    40 spaces remaining

    Description

Explore the captivating charm of Spanish country life as you venture beyond Puerto Banus' bustling port. Meander through the quaint, cobbled lanes of this picturesque village and be captivated by its allure, offering artists a haven with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean Sea. Continue the guided walking tour towards the bullring. The Mijas bullring is quirky because of its unusual shape. It was built near the castle in 1900 due to high demand from the people of the area. However, because of the irregular shape and lie of the land where it was to be situated, it meant that they had to build an oval shape rather than the usual circle - making it unique in Spain. Next on the itinerary is the Contemporary Art Center of Mijas, a venue boasting a prestigious connection with iconic cities like Paris, New York, Madrid, Barcelona, and Málaga. Located in the heart of Mijas village, this art museum proudly exhibits the works of Pablo Picasso. Inside, you'll find a captivating private collection featuring 400 original masterpieces, including some of Picasso's renowned works and the world's second-largest collection of Picasso ceramics. This remarkable display also showcases artworks from acclaimed artists and friends such as George Braque, Foujita, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró.
