    Description

    An unforgettable adventure awaits you on Samana’s most exciting tour. Explore the interior of the Samana Peninsula where the mountain range reaches an altitude of 2,100 feet. Upon arrival at the ranch, you will be greeted by your friendly guides who will provide you with a safety briefing. Then it is time to start your walking adventure to the waterfall. On the way, you will discover isolated villages and a variety of local vegetation, flora and fauna including coffee, cacao, and a variety of tropical fruits. Upon arrival at the falls, you will be awestruck by the cascade of cold water rising 120 feet. Relax nearby with the mist cooling you or take a swim in the refreshing natural pool.

    Description

  • Samana - Secrets of Los Haitises National Park: Caves, Birds & Jurassic Scenery 125(USD)

    Description

    After a safety briefing, depart from the pier onboard a comfortable catamaran for a truly unique ecological experience. Los Haitises National Park is a protected virgin forest accessible by water and is an area covering over 600 square miles. It represents a growing destination for ecotourism and the park was once used as the filming location for the feature film “Jurassic Park.” The number of visitors allowed is limited and is for those who want a unique experience. Haiti means highland or mountain range in the Taino Indian language, although the elevation of the park's hills ranges from 30–40 m (98–130 ft). There is a multitude of caverns, adorned with pictographs and petroglyphs. You will circle the small cay known as "Bird Island" while your expert guide explains the importance of the many migratory and indigenous birds that inhabit the mangroves and island. After cruising around Bird Island, your captain will dock the boat at one of the fascinating caves. You will discover stalagmites and stalactites, as well as view ancient paintings and sculptures that represent the gods of the Taino Indians, native to this island.

    Description

    Explore Long Island and experience two of its most impressive natural wonders – one dripping with stalactites, the other plunging 663 feet down into the world’s second-deepest saltwater blue hole! Step aboard your air-conditioned bus at Gordon's Beach for an island exploration seeing its highlights: Gun Hill, the highest point in Clarence Town and the historic St. Peter and Paul church with stunning views of the harbor. Next, travel along the scenic Queen’s Highway, to Hamilton’s Cave. Your expert guide leads you to survey the labyrinthine of darkness in the Bahamas’ largest cave system. Multiple chambers open to reveal impressive stalactites and stalagmites formed over centuries as well as many bats who (fortunately) mostly slumber during the daytime in the crevices of the caves. Afterwards, you will return to the light of day for a short drive to the world-famous Dean’s Blue Hole. Surrounded by limestone bluffs and a splendid white-sand beach, this setting is idyllic for relaxing along the unspoiled Caribbean shore. But the real attraction here is to wade, or swim out, through the shallows to where the sandy seafloor suddenly disappears – suddenly dropping 663 feet into the world’s second-deepest saltwater blue hole. Or dare to be brave and adventurous by climbing up the rocky pathway and plunge into the blue depths below. All too soon it is time to rejoin your bus for the 45-minute drive to the yacht waiting at Gordon's Beach.

    This Yachting Land Adventure includes walking for approximately 1 hour over uneven ground with limited light at the cave and driving over somewhat rough road to reach Dean’s Blue Hole beach. Please wear flat, comfortable shoes suitable for the cave excursion, and dress in swimwear with cover-up for the beach visit. Be sure to bring along a hat, sunscreen, and your towel from the yacht. There is a restroom break on the tour. We recommend you bring US dollars to purchase any food or drink from the small local vendors.     Experience a true snorkel experience off of Grand Bahama. Take a brief tender boat ride to Taino Beach Marina. Once at the marina an escort will meet you and provide information regarding the tour. You will then take a 15-minute boat ride to Rainbow Reef. This reef is considered one of the most beautiful reefs in the world. You will then receive a safety orientation and dawn a mask snorkel and fins. Then the snorkel adventure begins. You will have about 45 minutes to experience coastal beauty and underwater adventure. You will see hundreds of tropical fish and coral while snorkeling in the shallow waters that surround Grand Bahama. After your snorkeling experience take a 15-minute boat ride back to Taino Marina. Quench your thirst with complimentary island style Lemonade or Fruit Punch.
