Description
Located in the south of France, just 26 km from the Spanish border, Collioure is a jewel of the Vermeille Coast, renowned for its authentic charm and preserved natural beauty.
This picturesque village, once the muse of great artists such as Matisse, Picasso, and Marquet, offers a unique blend of Mediterranean atmosphere, rich history, and artistic inspiration. Stroll along the harbor, where cafés line the waterfront and painters still set up their easels, capturing the sepia-toned harmony of the church tower, Royal Castle, beach, and sun-warmed whitewashed houses nestled between the mountains and sea.
Your guided walking tour leads you from the waterfront to the Church of Our Lady of the Angels, featuring a remarkable golden sculpted wooden altarpiece dating from the 18th century. Continue to the Royal Castle, once extended by Pierre IV of Aragon in the 14th century. (Please note: the castle is closed on Tuesdays.)
After the visit, enjoy a tasting at a local tapas bar, where you’ll sample a glass of local wine paired with traditional Spanish ham, goat cheese, sausages, and anchovy-topped bread with tomatoes—a flavorful conclusion to your cultural stroll.
Some free time is included for independent exploration before returning to your Yacht.
