After a decade in the cruise industry, Carene joined SeaDream in 2020 as Assistant Concierge, and stepped up to her new role with ease. Our valued member of the SeaDream family looks forward to many more years to come.
Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Caribbean—and why?
A: I had an opportunity to escort our guests on a Yachting Land Adventures excursion to The Baths, which is a beach area on the island of Virgin Gorda, nestled in the Caribbean’s British Virgin Islands. The Baths are comprised of massive granite boulders that form an amazing array of cavernous passages meandering through sheltered sea pools along a sun-drenched shoreline. The beach was amazing.
Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Mediterranean—and why?
A: My favorite by far is Dubrovnik for its beautiful historic city located in the southern part of Croatia along the Mediterranean. Again, I have escorted another YLA Tour which explores the Old Town, and specifically the locations where Game of Thrones has been filmed. In a word: amazing.
Q: What does “It’s Yachting, Not Cruising®” mean to you?
A: The concepts of cozy and intimate immediately come to mind. Sailing through secluded area where big ships are not able to go. Personalized service. These are more than just taglines, they are deliverables that we consistently achieve on every SeaDream journey.
Q: What is it that you love most about SeaDream?
A: I have previously worked on big ships with over 2,000 guests and 1,000-person crew. That is the complete opposite of what SeaDream is about. With SeaDream, we host just up to 56 couples, with one crew member for every guest. Because we are a family that consistently looks forward to welcoming our guests back year after year, I can really feel the difference.
