Meet the Crew: Q&A with Christophe

Christophe

As part of our dedication to the perfect yachting journey, we would like to introduce you to the people who make us #1 for our award-winning service on the seas. This week we are pleased to introduce you to Christophe, our Executive Hotel Manager on board SeaDream I and SeaDream II.

After traveling the world and holding posts in Paris at both luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants, Christophe brought his extensive travel knowledge and business acumen to SeaDream Yacht Club, where he has been running “the best crew in the world” for 23 years. Our valued member of the SeaDream family looks forward to many more years to come.

LET'S GO YACHTING

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Caribbean—and why?

A: Of all the Caribbean islands that I visited in the past twenty-five years, St. Barths stands out as one of my favorite places to visit. I never tire of my “home away from home,” as it is a bit of the French Riviera in the Caribbean. There is great shopping, fantastic restaurants, and luxurious beach clubs. Plus, my favorite pastry shop is there. I won’t tell you which one, but if you come on board I will divulge my best-kept secret!

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Mediterranean—and why?

A: I have so many favorite places in the Mediterranean region that I love to return over and over, so it is difficult to select just one. However, I will note Collioure, nestled in the southwest of France, a picturesque town that has inspired many painters and artists such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. Barcelona in Spain, a vibrant historic city that dishes up everything imaginable: a rich cultural heritage; La Bocqueria, the best food market in the world; the incredible Gothic Quarter, and the beach area dubbed La Barceloneta. In the Greek Isles, I would select the car-free island of Hydra, where cats and donkeys roam free. Besides these local residents, Hydra offers the most picturesque horseshoe-shaped harbor—where people watching is a must while sipping an iced coffee, or frappe as the locals call it.

Q: What does “It’s Yachting, Not Cruising®” mean to you?

A: At SeaDream, we love to welcome our guests in the same way as friends visiting us in our homes. Our intention is to recreate that comfortable atmosphere while offering the highest standards of service and understated luxury. For me and my teams, every single detail matters. This is what yachting means to me—a luxury escape with remarkable, personal service that cannot be replicated.

Q: What is it that you love most about SeaDream?

A: I consider life aboard SeaDream I and SeaDream II my second home. Over the years I have met guests that have become friends, those who keep coming back year after year, often for decades. They have continuously praised my team for their exceptional work and dedicated service, and those impressions keep me motivated every single day. These friends have become a part of my extended family. Their consistent support has turned them into cherished guests and a defining characteristic of the SeaDream experience.
