Deshaies is located on the leeward northwest coast of Basse-Terre Island and is secluded in a bay.
It is famous for "The Jardin Botanique de Deshaies (Botanical Garden of Deshaies)" and its beautiful beaches. Deshaies is a commune in the French overseas region and department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles. It is on the northwest coast of Basse-Terre Island. The inhabitants are called Deshaisiens.
