Nebbio & St. Florent
Nebbio & St. Florent
Taking its name from the thick mist which sweeps over the region, the Nebbio has for centuries been one of the
most fertile parts of the island. Formerly called "Conca d'oro' (golden shell) by Pascal Paoli, it is now reputed
for its very nice wines from Patrimonio.
Along the drive, magnificent views will come to your eyes, down the St. Florent's gulf and the Patrimonio's
vineyards on one side, and the Tyrrhenian sea & Biguglia's pond on the other side. Leave the town in direction of our little St. Tropez: St. Florent. Drive along the Biguglia pond, to the San Stefano pass, through Oletta and its multi-colored houses.
In St. Florent, enjoy a visit and stroll through the narrow streets bordered by souvenirs shops. Then, leave St. Florent in direction of the mountain of the Patrimonio region, reputed to be the best place for
wines. Stop in one of the local cellars for a wine tasting, and discover their white, rose or maybe a sweet muscat! Passing the Teghime pass, you will be back in Bastia.
Notes: Guests are advised that the scenic portion of the itinerary include some narrow, winding roads, therefore is not
recommended to passengers who suffer from vertigo and motion sickness.
