Visit the most important archaeological site of Macedonia - the magnificent Royal Tombs of Vergina dedicated to King Philip II and father of Alexander the Great.

This exciting opportunity to visit the Royal Tombs starts with a scenic 75-minute drive by comfortable air condition coach via the highway in central Macedonia to arrive in Vergina, the first ancient capital of the Greek Macedonian Kingdom. Upon arrival, you will visit the Royal Ttombs with the most important being that of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. You can view the newly opened exhibition that contains findings discovered in the tombs. Marvel at the superb painting of the King, his famous son and friends hunting.

Make your way inside the underground tomb, accompanied by your guide, and feast your eyes on some of the most important artifacts. Once belonging to Philip II – see the King’s shield adorned with ivory and gold, and also the King’s gold-trimmed iron breast plate. It is adorned with golden Diadems of unparalleled craftsmanship, the Golden Wreath of oak leaves, the gold-plated collar and behold the Silver Burial Urns. Listen carefully, as your guide explains how inside the tomb of King Philip, a Golden Chest was discovered, containing the King’s bones, washed with wine and wrapped in purple cloth.

After this very interesting visit, you will board your coach and drive back to your yacht waiting in Thessaloniki.
