Vintage Israel and its Wine History - Day 2
Vintage Israel and its Wine History - Day 2
Travel to the enchanting Judean Hills, where ancient vineyards intertwine with modern winemaking mastery on this informative adventure that unveils Israel’s wine making saga.
Less than an hour drive from Ashdod port, at the foothills of the Judea mountains, lies one of Irael’s up and coming wine regions. Dozens of charming boutique wineries are scattered throughout this area. Behind each of these wineries there is a fascinating life story, a great love for wine, good people, and a stunning view. Many of the wineries use local vineyards for the production of their vintages, located on the land of historic Judea from which grapes have been harvested for thousands of years.
Not only will you learn about the wines, but also hear the rich biblical history of this region, about the fight between David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah and Joshua’s war against the Canaanites. You will visit 2 wineries in this region and enjoy a light meal before returning to your yacht in Ashdod.
Notes: Centuries of challenges in the Judean Hills impacted its wine production. A late 19th-century revival of Israel’s winemaking heritage berthed unique wineries that you’ll explore on this adventure, setting this region apart from wineries you may have encountered in other countries.
