Ponce Art Museum
Ponce Art Museum
The city of Ponce prides itself as the home of one of the region's finest art museums, featuring major works by great European masters such as Rubens, Van Dyck, Gainsborough and others. The Ponce Art Museum is also the home of Sir Frederic Leighton's Flaming June. The museum is housed in an architecturally visionary building comprised of hexagonal rooms, and designed by Edward Durrell Stone.
Next you will head to the city's center that has been lovingly restored to its original turn of the century splendor and features a spacious tree-lined plaza, which encompasses the Cathedral and fanciful red and black Parque de Bombas (firehouse), which was imported from a world's fair. Horse drawn carriages are usually found at the square as well. You and your fellow SeaDream guests will have 90 minutes to explore the square, do some shopping or have a nice local lunch. After you have explored Ponce, your transfer will take you back to the port and SeaDream.
Notes: Museum does not open on Monday or Tuesday.
