Mayaguez Walking Discovery

After a short transfer from the SeaDream pier, you will meet our walking tour guide in the center town square, Plaza Almirante Cristobal Colon. The city of Mayaguez, the third largest city of the Island is known as the Sultan of the West was founded in 1760.

"YagUez" was the Indian name for the local river, a name that still holds today, which means clear waters in Taino language. The word "MayagUez" is a variation of yagUez. Its meaning is "Land of the clear waters".

Your guide will provide you with a 2-hour walking tour where you will visit the town's most important historical sites " among these are:

1. Cathedral of our Lady of the Candelaria
2. The AlcaldU­a " City Hall
3. Presbyterian Church
4. Museum "La Casa Grande"

After finishing your land adventure, you will be provided with approximately half hour for photo opportunities, etc.
