Demre, Turkey

Demre is a town and its surrounding district in the Antalya Province on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. It is named after the river of the same name. Known as the ancient city of Myra, it's home to the earliest church of St. Nicholas (the original Santa Claus), built in the 6th century. Myra has some of the most impressive and well-preserved ruins in all of Turkey.
