Venice has been known as the "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Masks", "City of Bridges", "The Floating City", and "City of Canals". Luigi Barzini, writing in The New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man". Venice has also been described by the Times Online as being one of Europe's most romantic cities. Founded in the 5th century, the city stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic. In 1987 Venice and its Lagoon was inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage site. SeaDream typically docks at the San Basilio pier after navigating by the famous St. Mark’s Square down the grand canal. With its yacht stature, SeaDream vessels are amongst the very few commercial vessels that can navigate this famous waterway. SeaDream does offer Land Adventures when overnighting. You can also contact our destination specialists should you need a private arrangement, transfer or hotel recommendation.
Piran may be the most beautiful of Slovenia's coastal towns. It is perched on a tiny piece of land jutting into the sea. It has the feeling of being more like an Italian coastal town, without all the tourists. Piran was part of the Venetian empire from the late 13th century to the end of the 18th century and also had some influence from Austria-Hungary Empire.
Hvar is a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. The island of Hvar is somewhat unusual as it is blessed with a large fertile coastal plain and fresh water springs. Its hillsides are covered in pine forests, with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards and lavender fields in the agricultural areas. The climate is characterized by mild winters and warm summers with many hours of sunshine. Guests have an option to kayak down the coastline on one of our land adventures or take an independent hike up to the fortress to have some incredible views of the picturesque harbor. You also have an option to bike across the island to Starigrad and meet up with the other guests on the land adventure called “The best of Both Worlds".

Jutting into the southern Adriatic Sea coast, Dubrovnik—dubbed the “Pearl of the Adriatic”—is perhaps the most picturesque city on the Dalmatian Coast. A key Mediterranean maritime power from the 13th century, Dubrovnik has preserved its storied mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains. Its Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site adorned with the ancient city walls and Rector’s Palace. SeaDream anchors off the walled city as a port of call and tenders directly to the town gate.
Kotor is a coastal town in Montenegro. The old Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by an impressive city wall built by the Republic of Venice and the Venetian influence remains dominant among the architectural influences. In 1979 the Bay of Kotor, City of Kotor and the surrounding territory have been listed in the UNESCO Heritage as a Cultural Site. SeaDream usually navigates close by the small islands of St. George and Our Lady of the Reef. The Bay of Kotor stretches 28 km and is one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. It is sometimes called the southern-most fjord in Europe (though it is actually a submerged river canyon called a ria). SeaDream typically docks steps away from the town. SeaDream has arranged a few different Yachting Land Adventures. One of them is a walking discovery and the other will show you the heritage and countryside of Montenegro. For the active guests, there’s incredible biking along the coast as well as a hike up to the fortress. On occasion, SeaDream may dock in the bay and tender directly to the town. We regret that watersports are not allowed in this protected area.
Corfu’s rich multicultural heritage, historic monuments, and unsurpassed natural landscape make the island notable as one of the most cosmopolitan of all Mediterranean destinations. Corfu is the second largest Greek island in the Ionian Sea, situated so far north that parts of its coastline lie off the Albanian coast of Sarandë. In Greek, the island is named Kerkyra, Homer’s beautiful and rich land described in The Odyssey and Odysseus’s last stop on his ten-year journey home to Ithaca. With vibrant wildflowers and slender cypress trees rising from olive groves, Corfu is considered by many to be the most beautiful—and greenest—of all the Greek Islands.
Unlike the rest of Greece, Corfu never fell under the Ottoman oppression. Due to the successive domination of the Venetians, French, and the British over the centuries the island has become part of the Western rather than the Levantine world. Venetian culture wielded strong influence throughout the island, the town of Corfu reminiscent of Venice and Florence, Italy. In the beautifully preserved Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical influences came to be successfully applied to local artistic traditions. The cobblestone streets and pastel-colored Venetian architecture of the Old Town are a gem for sightseeing, boasting the fifteenth-century Old Fortress of Corfu, constructed on the site of a former Byzantine castle. To the West, the Venetian-constructed New Fortress features a network of underground tunnels and views that overlook the harbor. The Archaeological Museum contains artifacts from the Archaic period, including bronze and marble statues, clay pottery, and parts of ancient temples. Best explored by foot, visitors to Old Town note the charm of Spianada Square and Liston Street, reminiscent of Rue de Rivoli in Paris. Nearby, explore the Achillion Palace, built in 1890 as the summer retreat of Austria’s Empress Elizabeth.
Nature lovers will find unmatched scenery at secluded La Grotta Beach, where swimming, snorkeling, and cliff diving opportunities are plentiful, and the Corfu Trail, extending from Asprokavos along the south coast up to Agios Spiridon in the north. This off-the-beaten-path hiking trail passes through rolling olive groves, rugged gorges, traditional Greek villages, and ancient monasteries that line its route.
With the Pindos Mountains to the east and the Ionian Sea to the west, the coastal resort of Syvota is a gateway to a hidden paradise of unspoiled landscapes, unexplored beaches, and more hidden coves than one can imagine—perfect for swimming, biking, and hiking. Syvota’s picturesque harbor is dotted with local yachts and lined with a promenade and stylish seaside cafés. Often described as the “Caribbean of the Greek Islands” for its sheltered inlets and turquoise waters, most accessible only by yacht or small sailing vessel, Syvota redefines off the beaten track.
Galaxidi is a small village on the northern coast of the Corinth Golf lying west of Itea and 15 km southwest of Delphi. It allows excellent access to the incredible sight of Delphi which is within the top three archeological attractions in Greece and in 1987 was inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage Site. It is believed the Zeus wanted to find the center of the Earth so he sent two eagles flying from the eastern and western extremities and where they met was Delphi – becoming the “navel/center of the earth”. SeaDream has arranged the very best guides and vehicles from Athens to further enhance this incredible visit. Your guided visit highlights the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo, where Pythia, the celebrated Oracle dwelt, the Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Way, the amphitheater, the best-preserved stadium of Greece, and the Castalia Spring, where in ancient days the pilgrims had to wash before they were allowed to consult the Oracle. In the Delphi Museum, see such treasures as the Omphalos, which marked the center of the world, and the magnificent bronze Charioteer, one of the finest pieces surviving from the 5th century BC. After the museum, there will be free time to visit the village of Delphi. SeaDream has the option of docking along the small pier in Itea or anchoring off to provide water sports options. This is dependent on availability as well as a number of guests visiting the archeological site.
So narrow! So dramatic! You'll understand why SeaDream says "expect the unexpected" as your yacht transits the Corinth Canal. The canal was first completed in 1893, despite previous attempts from ancient times; the first plans being from 602BC. The Roman Emporer Nero actually started construction in 67AD, making the first cut himself with a golden pick. The canal we transit is 6.3 kilometres (3.9 mi) in length. Before the canal, ships sailing between the Aegean and the Adriatic had to circumnavigate the Peloponnese Peninsula adding about 185 nautical miles to their voyage.
The scholar Cornelius Castoriadis called Tinos a “handmade island” for the stamp made by its signature marble-cutting artists, which elevated the island’s marble-carving tradition to new heights. As one of the Cyclades’ secret gems, Tinos offers nature lovers, art aficionados, and gastronomy enthusiasts diverse, rich experiences. Explore Tinos’ timeless treasures from Volax to Chora, delving into ancient landscapes and remarkable sites at every turn.
A wild natural landscape of exotic beaches nestled in the western Cyclades, Kythnos is an island of elegant simplicity and hospitality. Steeped in mythology, the island is named after Kythnos, the mythical king of the original settlers and son of the god Apollo. Bisected by ancient walls, lush valleys, and more than 100 secluded beaches, the main town of Hora and its surrounding villages shine for their elegant architecture and strollable alleyways dotted with fountains, flowers, and cozy taverns. Making its maiden call to the island in 2025, SeaDream will anchor off breathtaking Kolona Beach, a unique isthmus beach sitting between two breathtakingly beautiful bays.
Piraeus, roughly translating to “the place over the passage”, is an important Greek port located within the Athens agglomeration, in the Attica Basin. It is 12 kilometers from the municipality of Athens, considered the fourth largest and is the third most populous amongst all the municipalities of Greece. Now a peninsula, Piraeus, originally a rocky island, was developed in early 5th Century B.C. when it was initially designated as Athens’ import and transit trade port. It is the largest marine-based shipping center of Greece, one of the largest ports in Europe, and considered the second largest passenger port in the world.
Inhabited since the 26th Century, it wasn’t until the 6th Century B.C. that Piraeus began catching attention. The land of Piraeus was essentially impassable, flooded by the sea most of the year until centuries passed and the flooding ceased. By the 5th Century B.C. it became a navy base for the Athenian fleet for the natural harbors and the strategic potential they carried. Athenian general and politician Themistocles fortified Piraeus’ three harbors Kantharos, Zea and Munichia, created ship houses and completed his walls in 471 B.C., which led to the port becoming a great military and commercial harbor.
There are many archaeological sites, points of interest and entertainment available in Piraeus. Most famous for its tavernas and cuisine, several popular events take place in Piraeus, such as the Ecocinema International Film Festival, the Maritime Festival, the Piraeus Rock Wave Festival and the Three Kings’ Way Festival. There are also many theaters, including the Municipal Theater, the open air Veakeio Theater, and the Menandreio Theater. Museums in Piraeus include the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, the Merchant Shipping History Institute Exhibition, the Panos Aravantinos Decor Museum, the Georgios Averof Museum Ship and the Museum of Electric Railways. Be sure to catch the panoramic views available from the hill of Kastella, overlooking Athens and the Saronic Gulf!

A scenic drive from the pier brings you inland to the village of Gliki, set beside the Acheron River. Known in Greek mythology as the River Styx, Acheron was believed to lead to the entrance of the underworld and the Kingdom of Hades. From the village, a short walk leads to the riverbanks where your exploration begins. After changing into your swimsuit and waterproof shoes, you step into the clear, flowing waters, which remain shallow along much of their course as they pass through the surrounding gorge.
As you proceed through the river, the landscape narrows into the Gliki Gorge, and the water gradually deepens, allowing you to continue at a level that suits your comfort. The route combines wading and a guided rafting segment, offering a steady descent through calm waters bordered by dense vegetation and willow trees. The rafting portion is designed for beginners and follows a gentle course, allowing close observation of the natural setting while moving downstream.
Following the river experience, you return to a nearby riverside taverna where a selection of local flavors is served, including Greek salad, tzatziki, fresh bread, and a glass of wine, beer, or a soft drink. Following your time at the riverside taverna, you rejoin your vehicle for the return drive to the pier, where your yacht awaits.
Notes
This tour requires physical effort, including walking in the river and participation in rafting without discomfort or difficulty in breathing. Guests must walk in the river and take part in a water-based activity involving wading and rafting over uneven natural river terrain. Riverbed conditions may include stones and uneven surfaces underfoot, and waterproof footwear is required for stability and comfort. Guests must bring their own swimwear, waterproof shoes, and a towel, and changing into swimwear typically takes place in basic facilities near the riverbanks or tavern. Rafting boats accommodate 6 guests each. The tour is subject to weather conditions. Transfers to and from Gliki village is approximately 60 minutes each way.

Departing from Syvota, you travel by vehicle along the coastal route to the town of Parga, arriving at the Paragea Old Olive Oil Factory-Museum. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the owner before beginning a guided visit through the museum’s various areas. The presentation focuses on the traditional methods of olive oil production, with explanations of the process and its correct use. During the visit, you will sample different qualities of olive oil while observing the original equipment and techniques that reflect the region’s long-standing connection to this product.
Following the museum visit, you remain on site for a meal served in a dedicated area of the property. The menu includes a selection of local specialties, accompanied by wine and mineral water, beginning with a welcome drink of fresh homemade lemonade. The setting allows for a continuation of the experience, linking the production of olive oil with its use in regional cuisine.
Afterwards, you proceed into Parga town for free time to explore its narrow streets and small alleys at your own pace. The town’s layout offers a mix of paved pathways and steps as you move through the harbor area and surrounding streets. At the conclusion of your visit, you rejoin your vehicle for the return drive to Syvota, where your yacht awaits.

In Parga town, walking takes place on paved surfaces with flat steps ascending and descending. The town is built on a hillside, and guests should expect sloping streets throughout. Depart the pier in Galaxidi by air-conditioned motor coach and travel along a winding mountain road toward Delphi. The journey leads inland to the slopes of Mount Parnassus, where the ancient sanctuary was established at an elevation of approximately 700 meters. On arrival, begin a guided exploration of the archaeological site, once considered by the ancient Greeks to be the centre of the world. Enter the Sanctuary of Apollo and follow the paved Sacred Way toward the Doric Temple of Apollo, where the high priestess Pythia delivered the oracles that shaped political and religious decisions across the Greek world.
Continue through the sanctuary to view the theatre and the stadium, both associated with the Pythian Games, one of the major athletic festivals of ancient Greece. Near the entrance lies the Kastalian Fountain, where ritual purification took place before sacred ceremonies. Across the road stands the Marmaria complex, or Sanctuary of Athena, where the circular Tholos remains one of the most recognizable structures of Delphi’s archaeological landscape.
The visit continues at the Delphi Archaeological Museum, home to an important collection of sculptures and artefacts recovered from the sanctuary. Among the highlights is the celebrated Bronze Charioteer, one of the finest surviving examples of classical Greek bronze sculpture. After exploring the museum, rejoin your motor coach for the return journey through the mountainous landscape back to the pier in Galaxidi.
Notes
Guests must be able to enter and exit the vehicle without assistance. Visiting the archaeological site involves extensive walking along paved paths within the archaeological site and museum areas. To appreciate the Sanctuary of Apollo, guests need to walk uphill along the gently sloped path known as the Sacred Way. Transfers between the pier and the Delphi area are approximately 1 hour each way. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, and guests may wish to wear a hat for additional sun protection. Shade within the archaeological site is limited, particularly during warmer months, as much of the sanctuary is located in open areas exposed to the sun.

Depart for the traditional village of Volax, located on a plateau in the center of Tinos Island. The area is believed to have been inhabited for over 2,000 years, as suggested by geological findings. The village takes its name from the Greek word for “rock,” reflecting the striking granite formations that define the landscape. These large, rounded boulders, often described as “lunar” in appearance, create a distinctive setting that has long intrigued both residents and scientists. In Volax, basketry remains a traditional occupation, and you may observe local artisans at work in their workshops.
Continue to Pyrgos, the largest village of Tinos and one of the most scenic in the Cyclades. Named after a Venetian tower built in the 16th century for defensive purposes, Pyrgos flourished during the 18th and 19th centuries with the development of shipping and marble craftsmanship. The village remains closely associated with the art of marble, with workshops, galleries, and the School of Fine Arts continuing this tradition. During your visit to the Marbleworking Museum, you will gain insight into the history and techniques of marble extraction and craftsmanship.
Following the museum visit, enjoy a coffee break with traditional sweets at Pyrgos Square, known for its marble-paved setting, plane tree, and traditional fountain. You will also have free time to explore the village at your own pace before rejoining your vehicle for the return drive to the port.

As the third highest mountain on the island, Exomvourgo is home to the ruins of a Venetian castle, where you will learn about its long and significant history. From here, the route descends toward the village of Koumaros, a small and traditional settlement known for its distinctive self-service café, open 24 hours a day without staff.
Continue along a network of verdant trails to reach Volax, a unique village set among large spherical granite rocks whose origin remains a mystery. Here, a short break is made to enjoy Greek coffee, homemade lemonade, and a local sweet. The walk then continues downhill along an old path to Agapi village, one of the island’s oldest settlements, set within a valley of traditional dovecotes and old watermills.
In Agapi, you will stop at a local taverna to sample regional specialties, including local cheese, lountza, caper salad, and handmade meatballs. Following your stop in Agapi village, you rejoin your vehicle for the return drive to the pier.
