The Art of Paella and Wine Tasting
The Art of Paella and Wine Tasting
Indulge your senses with the fabulous flavors of Valencia. Paella and wine are two main components in Spanish cuisine. This is your opportunity to learn how to combine the two by having an expert of this rice region and a local guide explain their details and importance.
Depart the pier for a scenic drive to a traditional Valencian home over 100 years old; that has been transformed into a historic restaurant. The chef and your local guide of the restaurant will greet you upon arrival. Here, the paella is still cooked traditionally on a wood fire using orange wood. During the demonstration, learn about the type of rice grown for paella and important tips for preparing this popular Spanish dish. You will enjoy three different types of paella that you helped to prepare. The sommelier will also conduct a wine tasting of the excellent white and red wines to accompany these paellas. At the conclusion of this excursion, re-board the coach reflecting on the new lessons learned of this important Spanish cuisine while visiting “The Birthplace of Paella” in Valencia, Spain
Notes: The chef does not speak fluent English; however, the guide will help translate.
