Yachting Land Adventure

Sweet Honey Bee Experience

Enjoy a sweet honeybee experience on the island of St. Lucia. This educational and interactive excursion takes you through the life of a bee, from an experienced beekeeper’s perspective.

Journey on a buzzing adventure, into the busy life of bees. Drive to the Iyanola Apiculture Collective, which is dedicated to supporting beekeepers in Saint Lucia and the Caribbean. Their mission is to develop ecologically-sound, symbiotic relationships with nature, which supports forest conservation and the expansion of the honey industry. How important are bees to the environment you may ask? These insects promote the growth of many different species of plants, flowers and trees, thus contributing towards a vibrant ecosystem that sustains other insects, birds and mammals.

Upon arrival at the center, you will be welcomed and given a brief history on beekeeping in Saint Lucia and learn interesting facts about bees, honey and strategies being used in Saint Lucia to save endangered bees. Your tour is guided by an experienced beekeeper who directs you to a safe observation room, where you see the beekeeper in his full protective wear, interacting with the bees in the hive.

This excursion is not just educational, but very interactive, as you get to sample exotic Black Mangrove honey from our world renowned Ramsar site and make your own candle from natural beeswax. Before leaving, you will enjoy a refreshing beverage and depart not just with wonderful memories, but with your own special candle, made with love by the master candle maker, YOU!
