Martinique Heritage and Cooking Class
Martinique Heritage and Cooking Class
Discover Napoleon’s beloved Empress Josephine’s creole roots in Martinique and experience a cooking class using seasonal produce.
From Le Marin your minibus will travel to Trois Ilets via the Southwest coastline. After passing the village of Trois Ilets you will stop at the Pagerie and home where Josephine, Empress of France, lived the first sixteen years of her life with her family in the eighteenth century prior to meeting Napleon and becoming Empress. Take a guided visit of the Pagerie and learn about their history in Martinique and their impact on this beautiful place.
Next, your trip continues to a local restaurant for a cooking class with Prisca, one of the best chefs in Martinique. She will share stories of her life in Martinique, while you learn how to make traditional fritters using the fresh seasonal produce she has carefully selected. Enjoy various West Indian aperitifs, as you taste her traditional, and authentic cooking, served with homemade cocktails before returning to the yacht full of the amazing stories and treats received on this excursion.
Notes: If chef Prisca is not available on the date of our call, another chef will be substituted and you will have a similar cooking experience. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures, and some may have limited capacity. All adventures in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change.
