Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Caribbean—and why?
A: It would not be possible to name all of them, as each island holds its own special gems. I love St. Barths for its exclusivity and chic French flair, evident in its luxe boutiques and bistros. Sint Maarten is unique as it offers two different cultures on one island, both French and Dutch, which is my second language.
Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Mediterranean—and why?
A: Spain has so many different cultures and experiences to take hold of. If I had to move to Europe, I would choose Spain as my country to anchor down. From a yachting perspective, the Amalfi coastline is simply breathtaking. To keep it simple, the area is rich in culture, cuisine, wine, and of course, the area’s signature limoncello, a favorite after-dinner sipping drink to complement the bistros’ perfectly prepared pizza.
Q: What does “It’s Yachting, Not Cruising®” mean to you?
A: Having worked on traditional cruise ships for many years serving thousands of passengers at a time but never getting to interact with them, SeaDream’s personalized service is what means so much to me. The 1:1 guest-to-crew ratio cannot be matched, as it affords the opportunity to get to know our guests and their preferences. The best part of all is when our guests return, and we are able to connect with them time and again like family; that is very special experience for me and one that cannot be duplicated elsewhere.
Q: What is it that you love most about SeaDream?
A: Family is very important to me, and we are all family here. Unlike big ships, where crew members often go unrecognized, with SeaDream, the management team treats you with the utmost respect. You are seen as a person and respected for your talents and commitment, regardless of the position you hold on board. SeaDream is my home away from, and I look forward to many more years to come.
