Meet the Crew: Q&A with Rose

Rose

As part of our dedication to the perfect yachting journey, we would like to introduce you to the people who make us #1 for our award-winning service on the seas. This week we are pleased to introduce you to Rose, our Boutique Manager on board SeaDream I. A proud member of our crew for more than twenty-two years, Rose joined SeaDream along with her husband, Mike, one of our servers. Together, they have sailed the seas and raised their family simultaneously, Rose having welcomed her second daughter recently, whom we fondly call our “Love Boat Baby.” Rose has taken on many roles during her tenure at SeaDream, and currently serves as our Crew Club President, leading crew-specific activities and events for both yachts.

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Caribbean—and why?

A: My favorite is Old Town San Juan, Puerto Rico, for its cobblestone streets, colorful Spanish colonial buildings, and 16th-century fortress with amazing sea views. To me, it’s the perfect destination from which to set sail through the Virgin Islands.

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel in the Mediterranean—and why?

A: I love Spain, particularly Barcelona. It has the best beaches in the world, a rich cultural heritage, and incredible food. It is particularly renowned for its architectural works, designated UNESCO World Heritage sites. I consider La Sagrada Familia a must-see, and who does not love Las Ramblas? From Barcelona, you can easily set sail to some of the best off-the-beaten track islands along the Spanish coastline, which take on a different perspective when accessed through their yachting harbors and seaside towns.

Q: What does “It’s Yachting, Not Cruising®” mean to you?

A: SeaDream is a unique experience with highly personalized, five-star service that I’m so proud to be a part of. I repeatedly hear from guests that it’s the number-one reason they keep coming back and sailing with us. The yachting lifestyle on board also extends ashore, with activities and experiences that are unique to SeaDream—guests can only get these experiences with a boutique yachting company like SeaDream.

Q: What is it that you love most about SeaDream?

A: I think of SeaDream as my second home. I consider myself fortunate because I get to work alongside my husband Mike, who has also worked for SeaDream for more than twenty-two years. Together, we meet a lot of amazing “yachters” and have built a special bond with guests and crew alike throughout the years.
