This tiny island paradise features limestone caves to explore, sea turtles and native birds to observe, and the most incredible sandy beaches in all the Caribbean
Tucked away in the northern Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, the tiny island paradise of Anguilla is often referred to as the “South Beach of the Caribbean.” Due to its hilly coast, Sandy Ground is protected from winds, making its pearl-white sand perfect for strolling and its turquoise waters perfect for wading. Of the more than 30 accessible beaches, almost all of them are deserted—it is rare that you will encounter more than a handful of visitors on any given day. Its beauty is only surpassed by its thriving food and watersports culture, with some of the best snorkeling and diving in the Caribbean.
Secluded Barefoot Beaches
Swim, snorkel, or simply stroll the beautiful white-sand beaches of Anguilla, from Shoal Bay Beach, one of the top beaches in the world, to the long crescent-shaped beach of Sandy Ground, off of which SeaDream drops anchor among sailboats and local yachts.
Spend the Day Snorkeling
Anguilla boasts a large reef system, especially on the north side, as well as many protected marine areas with coral reefs. Shoal Bay East Beach offers snorkeling at the water’s edge, where the reef literally touches the shore; Little Bay’s snorkeling spots can be reached by boat or—for the adventurous—climbing down a cliff; and Pelican Bay is a calm snorkeling spot, accessible by walking down the Pelican Trail. If you are already golfing at Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, you can snorkel directly from the resort.
Watersports for Everyone
Anguilla’s turquoise waters are the perfect playground to enjoy SeaDream’s signature watersports Marina—equipped with a new water slide and all the watersports equipment required for a proper yachting vacation, with all motorized sports included.
Hike to Windward Point
While there are abundant opportunities to hike in Anguilla, none match the views from Windward Point, a 2.4-mile loop that takes about 50 minutes to complete. The trail boasts views of the coastline, Caribbean Sea, lava rock, and coral formation. There are also many hiking trails accessible from Sandy Ground, including the North Hill Hike, which takes hikers along a century-old trail that leads to the ruins of a sugar plantation, forested hills, and back to Sandy Ground’s blue waters.
Bike the Island
Anguilla is the perfect island to discover by bike, so please take out one of our SeaDream mountain bikes and explore! Anguilla is considered a paradise for cyclists due to its gentle hills and quiet side roads.
