Marigot Beach, St. Barths

Marigot Beach, St. Barths

This narrow stretch of U-shaped beach in St. Barths is mostly known to locals. Its waters are part of a marine sanctuary, which makes it perfect for spotting the abundant sea turtles, conches, and marine life that call this region home. While conveniently located near boutique hotels and villas in the Pointe Milou and Grand Cul de Sac areas, there are no restaurants, bars, or shops on Marigot Beach—making it truly off the tourist path.

A breathtaking spot on the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands archipelago, Norman Island is said to be a source of inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson’s pirate novel Treasure Island. You won’t find any pirates here today—only the island’s cliffside wild goats and uninhabited stretches of beach, with hidden bays and water-level caves, perfect for snorkeling and perhaps a little treasure hunting.

Sandy Ground, Anguilla

Sandy Ground, Anguilla

This tiny island paradise of Anguilla features limestone caves to explore, sea turtles and native birds to observe, and the most incredible sandy beaches in all of the Caribbean. Due to its hilly coast, Sandy Ground is protected from winds, making its pearl-white sand perfect for strolling, and its turquoise waters perfect for wading. Of the more than 30 accessible beaches on the island, almost all of them are deserted—it is rare that you will encounter more than a handful of visitors on any given day.

Bequia, the Grenadines

Bequia, the Grenadines

Just seven square miles of quiet lagoons, reefs, and silvery stretches of sand, Bequia, quite simply, beckons. This sleepy island has a magical quality and is quietly celebrated for its idyllic and deserted beaches, which meld into coves that only scuba divers, snorkelers, and kayakers have heard of. Its carefree ambiance is indescribable.
