A canal first proposed in the 1760s and finally completed in 1829 still shortens the run between the Chesapeake and Delaware bays by hundreds of miles, sparing ships the long and often rough passage around the Delmarva Peninsula. Marshland and quiet waterside towns line much of the route, largely unchanged since the canal's earliest days. A short, historic shortcut linking two of the Mid-Atlantic's great estuaries.

I hate Commercial Cruises. So I reluctantly signed up for a SeaDream, and after a week on the boat, I could not think of one thing that was not done to perfection. The food was great, the staff was spectacular, and having only 50 couples made this a private yacht cruise.
