Nestled in the Normandy region of northern France, the yachting destination of Honfleur sits on the southern bank of the Seine River estuary, opposite Le Havre and west of Rouen. The town’s cobblestone streets, timbered houses, and picturesque harbor—ringed with 15th- and 16th-century buildings, cafes, and art galleries—define this charming medieval gem. Honfleur takes particular pride in its artistic roots; Impressionist Claude Monet’s mentor Eugène Boudin was born here, and Monet would often set up his easel at the Ferme Saint-Siméon on the hill above Honfleur to capture the light as it reflected off the waters of the Seine.
