A small Lake Superior town named for the iron-stained cliffs that rise straight from the harbor, laced with shoreline trails that reward the climb with sweeping views over Nipigon Bay. The surrounding boreal forest and wetlands sit squarely within one of the richest birding corridors on the entire Great Lakes, warblers, loons and bald eagles all regular sightings. A rugged, little-visited stretch of Lake Superior's north shore.
