Geiranger, Norway

The Geirangerfjord is the fjord of the postcards, sheer rock walls streaked by waterfalls with names like the Seven Sisters and the Bridal Veil, abandoned farms still clinging to impossible ledges above the water. A tiny village of a few hundred residents sits at its head, dwarfed by the scenery on every side, with a handful of restaurants serving reindeer and Arctic char to match the view. UNESCO listed the fjord for good reason, few landscapes anywhere compress this much drama into so short a sail.
