Asymptomatic SeaDream Guest Tests Positive for COVID-19 After Arriving in Denmark

SeaDream Yacht Club is Taking Every Precaution to Protect Guests and Crew

This afternoon, SeaDream Yacht Club was informed that a guest from Denmark has been diagnosed with COVID-19 after a routine check on arrival in Denmark. The traveling companion whom the person lives with has tested negative.

SeaDream spoke with the guest today, who had no symptoms of COVID-19 during the voyage. The guest received the test results this afternoon and will, according to the procedures in Denmark, be tested again on Sunday. The guest has been onboard SeaDream I and traveled home to Denmark from Tromsø on August 2nd.

“We sincerely hope that there is no COVID-19 on board, and we are not aware of any other guests or crew who are infected or have any symptoms, but we are taking all necessary precautions. All guests and crew were informed, as well as the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) and the Norwegian Directorate of Health as soon as we received the information this afternoon.”

SeaDream has established a relationship with the NIPH and the Norwegian Directorate of Health to handle this case in the best possible way. According to the advice of NIPH and the Norwegian Directorate of Health, guests and crew are now in quarantine, except for essential crew members needed to operate the yacht.

In an abundance of caution, the current sailing has been suspended and the yacht is now on its way to Bodø to follow NIPH and the Norwegian Directorate of Health's guidelines.

SeaDream immediately started contacting the guests who were on board the affected voyage. SeaDream has followed all national guidelines, and all crew members were quarantined in hotels for 10 days before boarding the yacht. SeaDream is doing everything to ensure that guests and crew get through this in the best possible way.
