  • Portimao, Algarve - Village Views & Portuguese Wines

    Description

Discover a charming Algarve fishing village and a modern Estate famous for its wine production. This Yachting Land Adventure begins by driving past Praia da Rocha in the direction toward Alvor, a little fishing port with a history that extends back to the Classical Era. It is believed the Carthaginians founded the city and its importance is confirmed by the ruins of a wealthy Roman villa located slightly inland from the present village. In the time of the Moors, who first occupied the area in 716, the village was named Albur and it passed through Portuguese and Moorish hands several times. Alvor, as its known today, is a charming blend of popular modern-day resort and quaint old-world village.

After spending some free time in Alvor, we will make our way to Quinta dos Vales where we will have a guided visit of the property (Sculpture Garden, vineyards and the wine lodge) followed by a wine tasting session of the wines produced and accompanied by a splendid selection of Portuguese snacks. The wines created at this estate have already received several awards in international wine contests. The wine tasting with the Portuguese snacks will take place in the well preserved tasting room of the manor house. After a refreshing experience we will re-board our coach and make our way back to the beautiful SeaDream yacht.

  • Seville - Captivating Cordoba

    Description

Leave Seville behind and embark on a scenic drive through the Andalusian countryside towards the historical city of Cordoba.
Cordoba was once the largest and probably the most beautiful city in the world. It is a city that demonstrates a past where Jewish, Christian and Muslim’s peacefully co-existed and left a beautiful legacy of architecture to be appreciated for centuries to come.
Cross the Guadalquivir River via the Roman Bridge and enter the city close to the Mesquita (Grand Mosque) which is one of the largest Mosque’s in the world. When the city was re-conquered by the Christians they were so impressed by the beauty of the mosque that, rather than demolish it they simply built a Cathedral inside it. Weave your way through the arches and columns to discover this stunning and bizarre piece of art and architecture.
Step back out into the city for a walk around the Historic Quarter – La Juderia. Once the home of the Jewish Community, it is an intricate network of narrow and winding streets lined with flower filled patios and traditional buildings hiding just around the corner. Make a visit to the Mudejar Synagogue which is one of only 3 remaining Synagogues in Spain.

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant and afterwards enjoy some free time to shop for souvenirs or simply take a last look at the city before returning to Seville and your SeaDream yacht.

  • Puerto Banus, Marbella - Ronda Wine Experience

    Description

Discover one of Spain’s oldest cities, located in the Andalusian mountains and 750 meters above sea level, Ronda stills displays aspects of its ancient Roman origins. This historical town has been a much loved destination for many painters, architects and creative artists; including Orson Welles and Ernest Hemingway.

Having visited the city center, you will discover one unique wine cellar in the area. “Descalzos Viejos” (the aged barefoot monks), was founded in the year 2000 and specially restored for the purpose of wine-making by the architects Francisco Retamero and Flavio Salesi and their respective wives, Chelo Porras and Mariela Grana. It is situated in the chapel of a sixteenth century Trinitarian monastery. In this building, perched on the higher slopes of the impressive Tajo of Ronda (the famous Gorge), they make wine from the 5.5 hectares of vineyards that have been planted on this property, and other 5 hectares in ward.
