Civitavecchia is a major port located in Rome, primarily utilized for maritime transportation of goods, as well as a fishing port. The commune’s name means “ancient town” and is one of the “Motorways of the Sea” in the Mediterranean, functioning as one of the main links between the mainland of Italy and Sardinia. The ancient name of the port was “Centumcellae,” first mentioned in a letter written by Pliny the Younger in 107 A.D., although scholars debate on whether the name was about the number of rooms of the Trajan Villa, or the number of natural creeks on the coast. Civitavecchia is a part of the Lazio Territory, an area which was confirmed to have social groups since pre-historic times, and the modern town was built over a pre-existing settlement of the Etruscan people in 107-108 B.C.E. (who debated to have founded Rome).
In the beginning of the 2nd century, the harbor and town of Centumcellae were simultaneously developed by Emperor Trajan in the territory of Aquae Tauri. As the town became more popular for ships traveling westbound, the Thermal Baths were constructed on the hill of Ficoncella. Centumcellae flourished in the Imperial Age, and by 538 A.D., it had become a Byzantine stronghold. In 728 A.D., it became a member of the Papal States. The Saracens raided Centumcellae many times in the 9th century, prompting Pope Leo VII to have a newer and more secure settlement built by 854. The town, then known as Civita Vetula, was under the rule of several lords, and the Popes temporarily lost control during the French Rule in 1798-1815. In 1870 it entered the Kingdom of Italy. Civitavecchia was severely damaged during WWII, destroying many of the ancient monuments including Forte Michelangelo, which would be rebuilt in the 1950’s.
Popular points of interest include the Forte Michelangelo, Terme Taurine, and Cattedrale di San Francesco. There is a wealth of Roman and Vatican architecture and tourists are encouraged to visit many of the museums and take the cultural tours available in this important sea port.
The name Portoferraio, meaning “Iron Port” in Italian, comes from the iron mills that prospered the small town during the 19th century. Due to Napoleon’s exile to Elba in 1814, the entire island enjoyed an age of glory and soon blossomed into a melting pot of different cultures. There are several memories of the past worthy of exploration—from the archaeological findings in Portoferraio’s museums to the impressive fortresses and military constructions such as the Castello del Volterraio and Napoleonic residences. Today Elba’s main attractions include the tranquil beauty of its rugged hills and the crystal-clear blue waters of its bays.
Bonifacio is one of our favorite arrivals! As we approach, the Captain navigates along the limestone cliffs giving guests a sea view of incredible Bonifacio as well as the great Aragon steps leading to the water’s edge. Shortly after the pilot will embark and the Captain will turn the yacht around and back into this very impressive fjord-like marina. This could be one of our highest rated arrivals as the guests always find it both impressive and awe inspiring.
Porto Cervo is an Italian seaside resort in northern Sardinia in an area called the Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast). SeaDream is most likely the only commercial vessel allowed to call to this amazing port of call. There have been several restrictions navigating and calling to ports within the protected national park zone. The best solution rather than anchoring was to get permission to dock next to the other super yachts “stern to” (backing into the pier using the marina platform to access to the port). The village is the main centre of the Costa Smeralda. It was created by Prince Karim Aga Khan and various other investors. The village houses some amazing boutiques, a newsagent, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Guests like to visit incredible properties such as Cala di Volpe, Patrizza, Romazzino as well as the Pevero Golf Club for some amazing golf and tennis options. Sitting pretty in the Gulf of Naples, just off the Sorrentine Peninsula, the island of Capri is well known today for its breathtaking landscapes and upscale beach resorts. The island has two harbors, Marina Piccola and Marina Grande. While human presence on the island can be dated back to the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, it was Emperor Augustus who most famously developed Capri by building villas, temples, and planted gardens. Popular to both visitors and native Italians alike, Capri is known for its boutique hotels, trendy restaurants, and annual international film festival, and is a favorite yachting destination. The island also offers many historic landmarks and highlights, including Grotta Azzurra, Villa Jovis, Giardini di Augusto, Certosa di San Giacomo, Villa San Michele di Axel Munthe, and the uniquely shaped Faraglioni Rocks. Mt. Solero marks the highest point of Capri, at 589 meters (about 1932 ft) at its peak. There is also a statue of Emperor Augustus on the mount, who first landed on Capri, over 900 species of vegetation, and, of course, incredible views. Two different hiking routes lead up the mountain and are worthy of exploration.

Lipari is one of seven islands of the Aeolian Island group in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily. The charming seaside town boasts a fortified castello and the impressive Aeolian Archaeological Museum. For centuries the world center for pumice production, Lipari has the finest white pumice dust on its beaches. The water off Spiaggia Bianca (White Beach) is as clear as the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, and perfect for exploring with SeaDream’s signature Marina platform. There are also several black sand beaches on the island worthy of exploration. On every voyage that calls on Lipari, enjoy a lovely scenic sailing past impressive Mt. Renowned for the beauty and variety of its seabed’s, Elba boasts an extraordinary richness of marine flora and fauna. A short transfer brings you to the snorkeling site where you get into your gear and set out to discover the rocky outlets and the sandy ocean floor. Keep an eye out for green posidonia, red gorgonians, black coral and sometimes the rare red coral can be found. Experience Portoferraio's historical treasures on a guided tour, from the Medicean Darsena's yachts, through the Sea Gate, to Napoleon's House and including a charming wine tasting.
Follow your guide for a stroll along the Medicean Darsena with its yachts and typical shops before entering the town center through the Sea Gate of the Medicean Fortresses. Built by the Archiduke of Florence in 1548, the Cosimo de Medici fortress was built to defend and fortify the town of Portoferraio.
Along the route, admire the 15th century Palazzo Comunale, where Napoleon resided for a few days during his first exile in 1814. Then leave the main square of Portoferraio and walk towards the House of Napoleon “Villa I Mulini ”, so called because of windmills that once stood on the site of the villa. A variety of rooms are open to the public including the study, reception hall, the apartment of Napoleon’s sister Pauline, Napoleon’s bedroom and the library. Also see the outside gardens where the emperor used to spend much of his time while in exile.
From the House of Napoleon, continue along the narrow cobblestone path that leads to the upper part of town. This is a magical location for a wine tasting and some local specialties. Cheers and Saluti!

Developed in 1961, this exclusive stretch of coastline spans more than 80 square kilometers of pristine shoreline and hinterland, renowned for its preserved natural beauty and refined character. Begin your exploration of Capri by stepping ashore and boarding a traditional Capri motor-launch for a scenic cruise along the island’s eastern coastline. Perched on a 350-foot-high cliff overlooking the Gulf of Naples, is the intimate hillside village of Ravello. Travel by minibus up the mountain on this Yachting Land Adventure to discover Ravello's charms and visit Villa Rufolo with the garden that inspired Richard Wagner. Walk with your guide through this lovely village and enjoy approximately 45 minutes on your own to explore its shops and peek inside the cathedral, founded in 1086, which contains two medieval pulpits, Roman sarcophagi & paintings by southern Renaissance artist Andrea da Salerno.
Afterwards, enjoy a welcome aperitif at a local hotel in Ravello with outstanding views of the Amalfi coastline before driving back to Amalfi town. This Yachting Land Adventure begins with a sightseeing tour of the island with stops at some of the most panoramic points, including magnificent views of the Aeolian Islands. At the end of the drive, the coach stops at a local pizzeria, where the owners happily demonstrate how to make their home-made traditional Sicilian style pizza. You also have the opportunity to create your own Sicilian style pizza pie according to your personal taste, or it will be made for you. Discover Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands, on a panoramic island drive that introduces its volcanic landscape and historic highlights. Formed by a series of volcanic eruptions, Lipari reveals layers of geological history as you travel around the island by air-conditioned vehicle. Stops are made at several scenic viewpoints, as well as at former obsidian and pumice quarries, once the island’s principal exports. These sites illustrate the role volcanic resources played in shaping Lipari’s economy and daily life over centuries.
Continue to the clifftop area overlooking Lipari town, where the island’s historic and religious landmarks are concentrated. Explore the exterior of the citadel complex, which includes the Spanish Castle and the Cathedral of San Bartolomeo, dedicated to the island’s patron saint. Set high above the harbor, this elevated area has served as a defensive and spiritual center since antiquity, offering insight into Lipari’s strategic importance in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The tour concludes with a visit to Lipari’s Archaeological Museum, regarded as one of Italy’s most significant collections for the Neolithic period and Aeolian prehistory. Inside the museum, view artifacts documenting early settlement, maritime trade, and volcanic activity across the islands. Exhibits include pottery, tools, and objects recovered from local excavations, providing context to the landscapes seen earlier in the tour. Board 4x4 vans for a portion of the ascent to one of the greatest European Volcanos - Mt. Etna. Admire the unique volcanic scenery and at the base of the crater where a alpine guide will escort you to the 2,800 meter level for magnificent views of the volcanic craters of Etna!
Depart from the port for a dramatic drive via air-conditioned motor coach to the slopes of Europe's largest active volcano. The road winds its way through small villages, lemon groves, orchards, vineyards, chestnut and pinewoods. Gradually encounter the hardened lava fields scattered with volcanic cones. Enjoy the view from the Silvestri Craters located at an altitude of 6200 feet and surrounded by hardened lava flow. Appreciate this eerie, unique scenery and travel to the next level by cable car. Finally, board 4x4 vans for the drive to the base of the crater, to meet Alpine guides who lead the twenty-minute walk up as close as possible to the crater's edge. Then it's back down, winding through the fields and villages for a return to Taormina and the SeaDream yacht.

This tour involves a strenuous level of activity, with walking on loose volcanic shingle, some uphill sections, and exposure to high altitude (approximately 2,800-2,950 meters / about 1.74-1.83 miles). Guests must be in good physical condition and the tour is not recommended for those with walking difficulties, or with back, neck, heart, or respiratory conditions; it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Some steps are required to enter the cable-car station. Guests who prefer not to hike may wait at the upper cable-car station (2,500 meters / 1.55 miles) while the group continues higher. Closed-toe shoes and warm clothing, such as a jacket, windbreaker, or sweater, are required, as wind conditions at higher elevations can be strong and cold. Jackets, coats, hiking shoes, gloves, and socks are available for rent on site, subject to availability and size. The drive to and from Mount Etna is approximately 90 minutes each way. The excursion begins with a brief drive through the town of Naxos, founded by Greek colonizers in 8th century BC. Ride along the flanks of Mt Etna and continue to the village of Viagrande, situated on a hill on the slopes of Mount Etna. Viagrande is famous for being mentioned in the first novel (“Nedda”) of the Sicilian writer Giovanni Verga.
This village is also known for its vineyards and especially for its gastronomic traditions. The tour continues to the Benanti Winery Monte Serra estate for a sample of several the winery's finest vintages, paired with tastings of local cheese, sun-dried and fresh tomatoes, green and black olives, salami and bruschetta. The winery visit also includes the vineyard and the historical oak barrel room.
From Benati Winery, ride back down to Naxos pier where the SeaDream yacht awaits.

Leave the pier by coach and drive to the archaeological area. Upon arrival, visit the Roman Amphitheatre of Augustus (used for contests between gladiators and wild beasts), the Altar of Hieron (constructed in the 2nd century B.C. to celebrate the “Eleutherian Feast”), the Latomie of Paradise (large caverns once used as prisons), the Ear of Dionysius (an extensive grotto known for its acoustic properties), and the Greek Theatre (one of the largest in the Hellenic world, originally constructed in the 5th century B.C. and later enlarged).
After the archaeological visit, continue by coach to a local winery. Gulino Winery is located in Contrada Fanusa, between the sea and the city, a few kilometers from Siracusa and the archaeological park. The Gulino family has been producing wine since 1793, cultivating native and historical grape varieties such as Nero d’Avola, Albanello, and Moscato. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided visit of the winery and its garden, followed by a wine tasting of selected wines from their own production, accompanied by Sicilian specialties. The tour then returns to the pier.

Depart the port of Syracuse for a scenic 45-minute drive through the countryside of southeastern Sicily, passing the villages of Cassibile and Avola and the almond groves that characterize this region. Upon arrival in Noto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rebuilt after the earthquake of 1693, begin a guided walk through the town’s terraced historic center. Broad avenues and connecting steps lead through a unified ensemble of Baroque architecture constructed from locally quarried, honey-colored stone.
Visit the Public Gardens and enter the Cathedral of San Nicolò to view its interior, then continue on foot to see the exterior façades of the Churches of St. Domenico and St. Charles (del Collegio). View the exterior of the Ducezio Palace, the town’s historic administrative center, and the Villadorata Palace, distinguished by its elaborate wrought-iron balconies. Enjoy some free time and a refreshment stop before returning to the pier to rejoin the yacht.

This Yachting Land Adventure starts with a drive to the Ggantija Megalithic Temples in Xaghra, which are one of the most important archaeological sites in the Maltese islands and on the Unesco World Heritage list. The well-preserved site consists of two temples dating back to between 3600 and 3200 years before Christ. Considered as one of the oldest free-standing monuments in the world preceding Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids, they represent a phenomenal culture. Enter from the newly constructed interpretation center that helps put a context to this mysterious civilization. From here, you walk with your guide to explore the site via an external pathway that provides visitors with unique views of the natural landscape that surround Ggantija.
Next, proceed to Ta’Pinu Basilica, an important Pilgrimage centre. The origins of this church date back to 1883, when a peasant woman claimed to have heard the voice of the Virgin Mary talking to her in the chapel, which later became a basilica. Then re-board the coach for a panoramic drive outside of town where you will have a photo stop at the mushroomless Fungus rock and view the Inland Sea at Dwejra – a unique natural sea pool with an 80 metre long tunnel through the cliffs that leads to the Mediterranean ocean.
Continue the tour to the Citadel of Victoria, a historic fortress dating back to 1500BC. It dominates the capital’s skyline and within its walls lies a fine 17th century Baroque cathedral. Take a brief walking tour that includes inside the citadel and around the impressive fortifications of the recently-restored city, afterwards you will enjoy some free time to browse the shops or relax at a local café. Reflect on the discoveries of the beautiful island of Gozo as you return by coach to your waiting yacht.
