Nice is the fifth most populous city in France and the second largest on the Mediterranean coast. The city's famous seaside promenade, the Promenade des Anglais ('the Walkway of the English') owes its name to the earliest settlers to this seaside resort. For over a quarter century, the picturesque Nicean surroundings have attracted not only those in search of relaxation but also those seeking inspiration. SeaDream docks in the small port and offers several land adventure options as well as private arrangements and transfers.
Cassis is a small port situated east of Marseille in the administrative department of the Bouches-du-Rhone in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region in southern France. It is a very popular tourist destination and is famous for its steep cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered limestone inlets called calanques. The wines of Cassis are white and rose, and not to be confused with creme de cassis, a specialty of Burgundy which takes its name from blackcurrants (cassis), not the village here. SeaDream anchors in the bay and offer a land adventure to the impressive Aix en Provence. Other options are taking a local boat to the calanques, hiking along the coast, visiting some of the local vineyards, water sports, mountain biking or simply relaxing in a Balinese bed on the yacht.
St. Tropez located on the French Riviera quite simply may be the most famous resort town in Europe. It is a playground for the fashion models, athletes, movie stars, entertainers and other extremely wealthy summertime guests. There’s much to offer in this resort town, shopping, nightlife (Byblos hotel’s Les Caves du Roy nightclub) exceptional beach clubs such as Le Club 55 and Nikki Beach at Pampelonne. Nearby you can explore some of the hill towns and visit the award winning rose wineries. You can also visit neighboring Grimaud and Port Grimaud or just a little further out golf at a few highly rated courses. SeaDream anchors just off the break wall and tenders directly to the pier downtown.
Villefranche-sur-Mer has been a popular port of call in the French Riviera for cruise ships since the 1980’s. This former Russian Navy Base is a fishing port in the Alpes-Maritimes department of Cote d’Azur, near the French border of Italy, approximately 6 kilometers from Nice. Rich in history, this picturesque tax-free town is filled with colorful villas on hillsides, truly reminiscent of Italian architecture. Great for strolling and hiking, this amazing destination will provide a true feel of the Mediterranean lifestyle, and many wealthy individuals have decided to retire here.
The citadel that overlooks the seaside town, Citadella Saint-Elme, has three museums that are free to enter. The historic monument hosts movie nights, concerts, and a wide variety of other local events, and also serves as the town’s City Hall, which was inaugurated in March of 1981. The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is also a nearby tourist attraction filled with antique furniture and art, with nine beautiful gardens surrounding the historical place. Dubbed as a part of the “Notable Gardens of France”, there is a rose, stone, Florentine, Spanish, French formal, exotic, Japanese, Provençal and a garden de Sèvres. Every year, The Painters’ Day and Opera Azuriales events are held here as well.
Many tourists enjoy snorkeling in the clear, sapphire sea. The beach is jellyfish free, and cobblestone covers the area, so it is advised to keep this in mind when choosing footwear for the day. Villefranche-sur-Mer is a port SeaDream visits on some voyages that also travel to Monte Carlo, Nice, and Saint-Tropez, and is truly an excellent opportunity to take advantage of the Watersports Marina, inclusive in your voyage fare.
The name Portoferraio, meaning “Iron Port” in Italian, comes from the iron mills that prospered the small town during the 19th century. Due to Napoleon’s exile to Elba in 1814, the entire island enjoyed an age of glory and soon blossomed into a melting pot of different cultures. There are several memories of the past worthy of exploration—from the archaeological findings in Portoferraio’s museums to the impressive fortresses and military constructions such as the Castello del Volterraio and Napoleonic residences. Today Elba’s main attractions include the tranquil beauty of its rugged hills and the crystal-clear blue waters of its bays.
Porto Ercole meaning “Port Hercules”, is a town located in the municipality of Monte Argentario, in the Province of Grosseto, Tuscany. It is one the two major towns that form the township, along with Porto Santo Stefano located on the opposite side of this unique peninsula. It’s a very picturesque marina with sidewalk boutiques, cafes and restaurants. This is a great start for the Land Adventure traveling to Montalcino for the tasting of fantastic Brunello in one of the most famous Italian wine regions. Other options include hiking to the few castellos (castles) located on top of the three hills surrounding the port. As well as an adventures bike ride to Porto Santo Stefano or for the really energetic to the convent on top of the mountain. There’s also a great golf course and a fantastic boutique hotel called Il Pelicano where guests can enjoy a nice atmosphere and lunch. As we are anchored, guests will also enjoy water sports from the marina platform (Pending local conditions and approvals).
Civitavecchia is a major port located in Rome, primarily utilized for maritime transportation of goods, as well as a fishing port. The commune’s name means “ancient town” and is one of the “Motorways of the Sea” in the Mediterranean, functioning as one of the main links between the mainland of Italy and Sardinia. The ancient name of the port was “Centumcellae,” first mentioned in a letter written by Pliny the Younger in 107 A.D., although scholars debate on whether the name was about the number of rooms of the Trajan Villa, or the number of natural creeks on the coast. Civitavecchia is a part of the Lazio Territory, an area which was confirmed to have social groups since pre-historic times, and the modern town was built over a pre-existing settlement of the Etruscan people in 107-108 B.C.E. (who debated to have founded Rome).
In the beginning of the 2nd century, the harbor and town of Centumcellae were simultaneously developed by Emperor Trajan in the territory of Aquae Tauri. As the town became more popular for ships traveling westbound, the Thermal Baths were constructed on the hill of Ficoncella. Centumcellae flourished in the Imperial Age, and by 538 A.D., it had become a Byzantine stronghold. In 728 A.D., it became a member of the Papal States. The Saracens raided Centumcellae many times in the 9th century, prompting Pope Leo VII to have a newer and more secure settlement built by 854. The town, then known as Civita Vetula, was under the rule of several lords, and the Popes temporarily lost control during the French Rule in 1798-1815. In 1870 it entered the Kingdom of Italy. Civitavecchia was severely damaged during WWII, destroying many of the ancient monuments including Forte Michelangelo, which would be rebuilt in the 1950’s.
Popular points of interest include the Forte Michelangelo, Terme Taurine, and Cattedrale di San Francesco. There is a wealth of Roman and Vatican architecture and tourists are encouraged to visit many of the museums and take the cultural tours available in this important sea port.

On this Yachting Land Adventure, you can explore Bandol and enjoy a tasting of wines and local products at one of the fine Domains located in the region of the Côtes de Provence.
Bandol, a seaside resort with beautiful beaches, coves and wine estates is undoubtedly the most famous region in Provence for the Bandol Rose wines which are among the best in France. Many vineyards have the famous Mourvèdre grape which apart the uniqueness of the Bandol wine. It is one of Provence’s most internationally recognized wine regions. This area was also the first Roman settlement in France, called “Provincia Nostra”, by the Romans; and where the name Provence originates from.
Travel by coach to Bandol where you will savor the beauty and elegance of this long-time retreat for artists and writers. After visiting Bandol and some free time, the coach will take you along the area of St Cyr sur Mer, a stunning beach location surrounded by pine forests, on the way to the wine region.
Upon arrival at Domain de la Fregate, you will find yourself deep in Provence and in the heart of the Bandol wine region. Here you will learn their wine-making techniques and be invited for a visit of their famous vineyard. Since 1882, the Frégate family has grown and cultivated these vineyards with love. A tasting of the Domaine de Fregate Bandol wines will be complimented with local products, as well as an olive oil tasting at the winery. Reflect on the uniqueness of this region as you depart by coach to return to the yacht at the pier.

Indulge in a wine lover's dream tour from St Tropez, exploring renowned vineyards, visiting the historic Chateau St Martin for a wine tasting, and ending with a picturesque stop at Port Grimaud.
Departing from St Tropez, you will drive to reach Taradeau where Chateau St Martin is located. You will enjoy the countryside, passing by some of the most celebrated district’s vineyards: Appellation Côtes de Provence and reach your destination. The history of Chateau St Martin goes back to the Roman times. The Domain, “Cru Classé”, is 100 hectares and belongs to the same aristocratic family since 1740. You will discover beautiful sights, vineyards and have a special tasting of their wine production, accompanied by some toasts.
After your visit, re-board your bus and on the way back to St Tropez, you will make a stop at Port Grimaud. This Mediterranean fishing village, designed by the famous architect François Spoerry, is indeed a modern complex of luxury housing with a fully equipped marina. You will have some time at your leisure, before returning to your SeaDream yacht waiting for you in St Tropez.

Discover the medieval village of Eze, an eagle’s nest from the 14th century perched 1,401 feet above sea level and visit of the museum home of Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild located in St Jean Cap Ferrat.
Drive along the glorious French Riviera to Eze, the quaint village perched on top of a rocky peak overlooking the Mediterranean. On arrival enter through the fortified gate and climb up the cobblestone streets past carefully restored artisan shops.
After the visit of Eze, continue by coach along a scenic road to St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to visit the villa and gardens founded by Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild in the early part of the last century. The beautiful Neo-Renaissance villa shows her private collections of furniture and other treasures. The contents and themes of the gardens vary greatly. See the horse-shoe shaped steps and grotto's of the Florentine garden, the stone lanterns and rich greenness of the Japanese garden, plus the ancient rose gardens and semi-wild plantings of the English garden. Discover the highlights of the Principality of Monaco on this Yachting Land Adventure. As you depart Villefranche harbor, the coach will join the Lower Corniche, along the rocky coast to Monaco, and park at the foot of the rock of Monaco. From here you will take escalators and elevators which will carry you to the Old City: "The Rock". Up the hill, a guided walking tour through the narrow streets will take you pass by the Oceanographic Museum, the Cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace and view the exterior of Prince’s Palace. After a short time at leisure, your motor coach will drive along a small part of the Grand Prix Motor Race circuit before taking you to the Monte Carlo parking lot where you will walk up to the Casino Square area, surrounded by magical gardens. After the visit, you have more free time to browse, before boarding your coach for the return to Villefranche Port and your SeaDream yacht.

The sea portion may be replaced by land transportation if sea conditions do not allow, or if there is a small number of guests participating. Driving time to Monterosso is approximately 1.5 hours, depending upon traffic conditions. You will be given 3 delicious wines to drink at the winery, but any other wine requested will be at your own cost. Final departure time will be announced on board. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, there is a steep, uphill walk to reach the winery.
Paddle along the beautiful coastline of Portofino's Marine Protected Area on this fun kayaking adventure. Your guide will greet you at the tender pier and take you to a private minivan, for a brief transfer to the nearby Kayaking Club. The instructor will welcome you and provide an orientation including environmental guide, kayaking techniques and then test your skills in the water to determine the most enjoyable course for the group.
First everyone will paddle to Paraggi's Bay, forbidden to boat traffic; this is an ideal place to be enjoyed from the sea. Then, coasting along Niasca Bay, you reach Portofino's small harbor where, the most curious, can zigzag through the traditional Ligurian fishing boats. Continue traveling past small inlets, wild cliffs, caves and solitary beaches mostly only accessible from the sea. The next destination is Olivetta Beach, for a view of the prominent Portofino Lighthouse. After this pause, the course takes you toward Niasca Beach, admiring continually the seabed and the wonderful coast section where trees seem to dip into the sea. Once back at the club, your guide will escort you back to the transfer and yacht waiting in Santa Margherita.

Experience Portoferraio's historical treasures on a guided tour, from the Medicean Darsena's yachts, through the Sea Gate, to Napoleon's House and including a charming wine tasting.
Follow your guide for a stroll along the Medicean Darsena with its yachts and typical shops before entering the town center through the Sea Gate of the Medicean Fortresses. Built by the Archiduke of Florence in 1548, the Cosimo de Medici fortress was built to defend and fortify the town of Portoferraio.
Along the route, admire the 15th century Palazzo Comunale, where Napoleon resided for a few days during his first exile in 1814. Then leave the main square of Portoferraio and walk towards the House of Napoleon “Villa I Mulini ”, so called because of windmills that once stood on the site of the villa. A variety of rooms are open to the public including the study, reception hall, the apartment of Napoleon’s sister Pauline, Napoleon’s bedroom and the library. Also see the outside gardens where the emperor used to spend much of his time while in exile.
From the House of Napoleon, continue along the narrow cobblestone path that leads to the upper part of town. This is a magical location for a wine tasting and some local specialties. Cheers and Saluti!

Meet your bike guide in Porto Ercole for a brief safety orientation and introduction to the pedal-assist bicycles before setting off along a panoramic coastal road. The route continues beside the tranquil waters of the Orbetello Lagoon and into the Feniglia Natural Reserve, following a sandy path shaded by fragrant pinewoods that connect the hill of Ansedonia to Monte Argentario. The pedal-assist bikes provide steady support along the route, making the ride comfortable as you cycle through this protected coastal landscape.
Pause at La Feniglia Beach for a photo opportunity and a refreshing soft drink before continuing your ride along the lagoon’s edge and through the town of Orbetello. From here, follow the scenic coastal road back to Porto Ercole, where you will return to the pier and rejoin your yacht.

This tour involves a strenuous level of activity and includes approximately two hours of biking. A safety briefing is required prior to the start of the ride. When operated outside the beach season, the soft drink will be served at a local bar, as the beach kiosk will be closed. Closed-toe shoes are required; gym shoes are recommended. These beauties of the Maremma area are located in the southern part of the Tuscany Region. Explore the charming Medieval Town of Capalbio. The origin of this town goes back to the bronze age, under the rule of the Aldobrandeschi Family before it came under the rule of the Republic of Siena. Capalbio fell under the attack of the Spanish troops and experienced many years of decline and crisis before it become part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Free time will be provided for photo opportunities and independent explorations before you will board the motor-coach to reach the nearby local winery. Upon arrival you will visit the winery before you’ll have the opportunity to taste their own wine production. At the end of the tasting the motor-coach will take you back to the yacht.
