Venice has been known as the "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Masks", "City of Bridges", "The Floating City", and "City of Canals". Luigi Barzini, writing in The New York Times, described it as "undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man". Venice has also been described by the Times Online as being one of Europe's most romantic cities. Founded in the 5th century, the city stretches across 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic. In 1987 Venice and its Lagoon was inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage site. SeaDream typically docks at the San Basilio pier after navigating by the famous St. Mark’s Square down the grand canal. With its yacht stature, SeaDream vessels are amongst the very few commercial vessels that can navigate this famous waterway. SeaDream does offer Land Adventures when overnighting. You can also contact our destination specialists should you need a private arrangement, transfer or hotel recommendation.
Trieste is a city and seaport in northeastern Italy. It is situated towards the end of a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic Sea and Slovenia, which lies almost immediately south and east of the city. Trieste is located at the head of the Gulf of Trieste and throughout history it has been influenced by its location at the crossroads of Latin, Slavic, and Germanic cultures. In 2009, it had a population of about 205,000[1] and it is the capital of the autonomous region Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trieste province. Trieste is a city in North-East Italy. Once a very influential and powerful centre of politics, literature, music, art and culture under Austrian-Hungarian dominion, its importance fell into decline towards the end of the 20th century, and today, Trieste is often forgotten as tourists head off to the big Italian cities like Rome and Milan. It is, however, a very charming underestimated city, with a quiet and lovely almost Eastern European atmosphere, several pubs and cafes, some stunning architecture and a beautiful sea view. It was also, for a while, the residence of famous Irish writer James Joyce.
Piran may be the most beautiful of Slovenia's coastal towns. It is perched on a tiny piece of land jutting into the sea. It has the feeling of being more like an Italian coastal town, without all the tourists. Piran was part of the Venetian empire from the late 13th century to the end of the 18th century and also had some influence from Austria-Hungary Empire.
Opatija is a tranquil resort sometimes referred to as “Croatian Monte Carlo” on the sheltered east coast of the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. This village is a complete contrast to the dry Dalmatian coastal towns further south. Green hillsides give way to gardens and parks full of exotic plants down by the ocean. This town was developed in the 1880s specifically as a chic resort. Its mild climate and stunning setting made it a favorite winter destination for the 19th century Austrian and Hungarian aristocracy. Most of the hotels in town were constructed from this period. Opatija's highly jagged and rocky coast is bordered by a shady promenade, the Lungomare, which extends for 12km to the picturesque village of Lovran. Along the way, there are dozens of picturesque secluded coves to stretch out a towel along the rocks and jump into the sea.
Welcome to the Dalmatian Coast. Zadar is the oldest inhabited city in Croatia, and dates back to 59 BC when the city was a Roman municipality featuring traditional Roman infrastructure and early urban planning. The city’s modern history includes major transformations during World War II and during the 1990’s during the country’s war of independence. Enjoy the beautiful streets, amazing architecture, and beautiful culture that the city had to offer.
This island holds a host of accolades from being the oldest town in Croatia and hosting the oldest regatta in Europe, to featuring some of the most beautiful beaches in the country. With a picturesque coastline, it is easy to see why Vis was selected as the backdrop for the 2018 feature film “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.” The farthest inhabited island off the Croatian mainland, Vis has an interesting cultural heritage after being secluded from foreign visitors up until the late 1980s. This history of isolation has been key in keeping the island pure, making Vis an ideal destination for those seeking authenticity.
Jutting into the southern Adriatic Sea coast, Dubrovnik—dubbed the “Pearl of the Adriatic”—is perhaps the most picturesque city on the Dalmatian Coast. A key Mediterranean maritime power from the 13th century, Dubrovnik has preserved its storied mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces, and fountains. Its Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site adorned with the ancient city walls and Rector’s Palace. SeaDream anchors off the walled city as a port of call and tenders directly to the town gate.

Opatija - Hiking Kamacnik Trail
Description
Gorski Kotar (the Green heart of Croatia) is the primary area of the Primorsko-goranska County. It is a highland with forest flourishing with natural beauty and uninhabited wilderness, as a result of a lower population in the area after the Second World War.
Board the motor coach for a scenic one-hour journey to Gorski Kotar in the Vrbovsko area, where your hiking adventure reveals the picturesque world of the Kamacnik Canyon. Situated at the entrance to the canyon is a historic sawmill, today a restaurant, that tells a special story about the region’s past and complements the bucolic scene. Along the way, you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, at points walking next to the creek, crossing wooden bridges, at times quite substantial, that curve their way across small rapids or reach over the water’s edge with a sturdy, trestle-like construction. The path makes its way to a verdant valley, a truly lovely scene.
At the end of the total four-mile hike you will enjoy a tasty meal of venison ham, deer sausage, smoked cheese, homemade bread and blueberry strudel in a charming bistro before heading back to Opatija and your SeaDream yacht.Notes

Opatija - Medieval Istria, Roc Village & Hum Town
Description
See Medieval Istria and picturesque Hum - the smallest Town in the World according to the Guiness Book of World Records. Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately one-hour drive over the Ucka Mountains en route to the Istra Peninsula, and your first visit of Roc Village. An important cultural monument, Roc features well-preserved medieval town walls with two entrances. Discover the Roman lapidarium, a Venetian bombarda cannon, and even a functional watchtower. Churches abound here and include the 11th-century Romanesque Church of St. Anthony, small St. Roch Church (with several notable 14th-century frescoes representing St. Paul and the Apostles), as well as the St. Bartholomew Parish Church, which dates from the 14th century and features a prominent, approximately 85-foot-high (26-metres) steeple erected in 1676. Numerous other smaller artefacts are preserved in these ancient buildings.
Following a short walking tour of Roc Village, view a fresco presentation at a local artist's workshop. Next re-board the coach and head to the town of Hum. En route, pass by the Glagolitic Alley, a scenic route of ten monuments from the history of the Glagolitic alphabet. Located in the central part of Istria on an approximately 1,145-foot-high (349-metre-high) hill overlooking the Mirna Valley, Hum Town has retained all the features of medieval urban architecture and organization. With a population of just 21 people (according to the 2011 census), Hum is often called the smallest town in the world. On its western side, Hum is enclosed by town walls; on the remaining sides, houses are built into the defensive walls.
Take a guided walking tour of Hum Town when you arrive. See the bell and watch tower, built in 1552 as part of the town's defenses and the present Church of St. Jerome with its classical facade that was built in 1802 on the side of an earlier church. The 'Glagolitic wall writings' are preserved in the church. Written in the formative Glagolitic period (during the second half of the 12th century), they are one of the oldest examples of Croatian Glagolitic literary culture in the Middle Ages. Following your tour, proceed for a visit to a traditional local tavern for a tasting of Istrian specialties served with wine. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier via the Adriatic coastline.Notes

Komiza, Vis Island - Blue and Green Wonders of Croatia
Description
Hop aboard a speed boat for a scenic ride from Komiza toward Mazoporat Bay on Bisevo Island for a discovery of Croatia’s 2 famous attractions: The Blue Cave and the Green Cave.
Biševo Island leaves everyone breathless. The combination of natural phenomena, sandy bays & friendly islanders will remain in your memory forever. At this island there is rare natural phenomenon happening at the Blue Cave. The interior of the cave and the sea inside are illuminated with an indescribable silver-blue light. The rays of sun passing into the cave through a small crack in its ceiling are reflected in the sea, creating incredible light effects.
When you arrive on Biševo at Mezoporat bay, you will get off the larger boat and the skipper will take you to a small wooden boat that takes you into the Blue Cave. This is a similar experience to visiting the World-Famous Blue Grotto in Capri, Italy. The cave entrance is very small, and at a certain point you need to crouch in the center of the boat while the skipper maneuvers the boat into the cave. Once inside you will explore the interior which is bathed in an unearthly blue light. And beneath the translucent water, rocks glimmer in silver and pink to a depth of 16 meters. These are memories you will never forget and are etched into your mind during this Yachting Land Adventure.
Next you will visit the second and less known Green Cave. There is one important difference though, there is an opportunity to swim at this unique destination! Another natural phenomenon from light in the cave also appears in the Green Cave located on the islet Ravnik, on the southern side of Vis Island. After exploring and swimming at the Green Cave, you will rejoin the speed boat and stop at a beach to enjoy a quick snack; before the scenic ride back to Komiza and the SeaDream Yacht.Notes
Tour sequence may vary to avoid congestion (if possible) at the caves. Subject to weather & sea conditions. The entrance to the Blue and Green caves are dependent upon on weather conditions and tide.
