  • At Sea

  • Hamilton

An airier version of the United Kingdom endowed with tropical flair, the Bermudan archipelago holds a surprising number of compelling attractions across its minuscule landmass. In the UNESCO World Heritage site town of St. George’s, wander cobblestone streets steeped in colonial history, perhaps pausing at the quaint 17th-century St. Peter’s Church, the oldest Anglican house of worship outside of England. Be sure to take a stroll along one of Bermuda’s renowned pink sand beaches, the result of crushed red shells mingling with sand to astonishing effect. More wonders await below ground at the Crystal and Fantasy Caves, which were carved out and shaped for millions of years, creating spectacular rock formations that surround azure underground lakes. For dramatic contrast, climb the soaring Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, Bermuda’s tallest structure and one of the world’s oldest cast iron beacons, and take in 360-degree views of the entire archipelago. At the Royal Navy Dockyard, a stately collection of 19th-century maritime buildings, you might pick up a memento of alluring Bermuda from the enticing array of shops housed within.

  • Lisbon

Once the seat of the world’s mightiest seafaring power, bewitching Lisbon still maintains its aura of imperial grandeur. Capture a classic photograph of the Torre de Belém, an iconic fortified tower guarding the mouth of the Tagus River, and then ascend to formidable St. George’s Castle, a remarkably intact Roman citadel over 2,000 years old. Marvel at the 15th-century Monastery of Jerónimos, a UNESCO World Heritage site designed in a unique Portuguese Gothic style known as Manueline, which abounds with intricately carved maritime motifs. Inhale fresh mountain air in the nearby town of Sintra, another UNESCO site boasting an eclectic collection of whimsically designed palaces, churches and public buildings. Back in Lisbon, hop aboard tram number 28, whose legendary route takes you along serpentine streets in neighborhoods brimming with character, including the labyrinthine Alfama district. After grabbing a bite crafted with farm-fresh ingredients at the elegant Mercado da Ribeira, head to the lively Bairro Alto district and catch a live performance of fado, a stirring genre of music imbued with a uniquely Portuguese sense of longing.

Testimonials

The chef is outstanding. Every dish was excellent – loved the Indian menu. Mr. & Mrs. Joseph HardyNashville, Tennessee
I hate Commercial Cruises. So I reluctantly signed up for a SeaDream, and after a week on the boat, I could not think of one thing that was not done to perfection. The food was great, the staff was spectacular, and having only 50 couples made this a private yacht cruise. I have signed up for my second cruise, and probably will only Yacht with SeaDream in my future. Pat McGroganFernandina Beach, Florida
