Now a peninsula, Piraeus, originally a rocky island, was developed in early 5th Century B.C. when it was initially designated as Athens’ import and transit trade port. It is the largest marine-based shipping center of Greece, one of the largest ports in Europe, and considered the second largest passenger port in the world.
Inhabited since the 26th Century, it wasn’t until the 6th Century B.C. that Piraeus began catching attention. The land of Piraeus was essentially impassable, flooded by the sea most of the year until centuries passed and the flooding ceased. By the 5th Century B.C. it became a navy base for the Athenian fleet for the natural harbors and the strategic potential they carried. Athenian general and politician Themistocles fortified Piraeus’ three harbors Kantharos, Zea and Munichia, created ship houses and completed his walls in 471 B.C., which led to the port becoming a great military and commercial harbor.
There are many archaeological sites, points of interest and entertainment available in Piraeus. Most famous for its tavernas and cuisine, several popular events take place in Piraeus, such as the Ecocinema International Film Festival, the Maritime Festival, the Piraeus Rock Wave Festival and the Three Kings’ Way Festival. There are also many theaters, including the Municipal Theater, the open air Veakeio Theater, and the Menandreio Theater. Museums in Piraeus include the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, the Merchant Shipping History Institute Exhibition, the Panos Aravantinos Decor Museum, the Georgios Averof Museum Ship and the Museum of Electric Railways. Santorini, officially named Thira, is the southernmost Greek island that is within the Cyclades archipelago, in the southern Aegean Sea. Part of the regional unit Thira, the municipality of Santorini is comprised of the island Santorini, Therasia, and other uninhabited islands of Christiana, Palaia Kameni, Aspronisi, and Nea Kameni. The geological history of Santorini is quite complex due to the area’s volcanism and is currently a water-filled caldera: a rectangular lagoon that is surrounded by three steep cliffs. The name Santorini is a contraction of the name Santa Irini, which is based on an ancient cathedral found in the island’s village of Perissa. This name was given by the Latin Empire in the 13th Century. During the Ottoman Empire, Santorini was called “Santurin” or “Santoron”, and in early times, it was named Kalliste, Strongyle, and Thera.
Santorini is the site of the Minoan Eruption (also known as the Thera Eruption), one of the largest eruptions ever in recorded history. The origins of Plato’s story of Atlantis is believed to have a connection to this eruption that destroyed the early settlements on what was formerly a single island. The descriptions found of Plato’s Atlantis strongly resembles Thera, and with seismological, archaeological, and volcanological evidence, these claims are further supported. There is also speculation that the eruption is related to the Exodus of the Israelites, as well as causing the plagues described in the Bible in ancient Egypt.
The economy is sustained by two principal industries: tourism and agriculture, and has recently been voted as one of the world’s most beautiful islands in various outlets such as the Traveler’s Choice Awards in 2015. The wine industry in Santorini is becoming more relevant as well, made up of Assyrtiko, Athiri and Aidani grape varieties, which is best exemplified in Vinsanto (“holy wine”) which contains all three Aegean varietals. Although Santorini is highly arid, it’s unique ecology and climate allows it to grow unique and prized produce, such as cherry tomatoes, Lathyrus clymenum (a legume), and capers. Thus, tourists indulge in local specialties such as Brantada, Fava, and the traditional dish Santorinio Sfougato.
Located on the eastern Mediterranean, Limassol has become a popular tourist destination in Cyprus and an international business center for the island country. The region is known for its wine villages and excellent selection of local wine. The historic city center of Limassol has begun to embrace modernity, creating an interesting blend of old monuments and new architecture. The coastal city is known for its historical and archaeological sites and is easy to explore many of its highlights on foot. Points of interest include the Kolossi Castle, The Amathus Ruins and The Limassol District Archaeological Museum, to name a few.
In ebullient Haifa, you’ll be dazzled by one of the most meticulously maintained parks in the world, the terraced Bahá’í Gardens, where each tree, flower and even blade of grass is lovingly tended by followers of the Bahá’í faith. This UNESCO World Heritage site, which is dotted with ornate buildings and fountains, lies at the base of Mount Carmel. For exceptional views of the city and the shimmering sea, ascend further up the holy mountain aboard a cable car, alighting at an ideal lookout near the Carmelite Monastery of Stella Maris.

This is sometimes known as the Turkish Riviera (also known as the Turquoise Coast) and happens to be the country’s biggest international sea resort. The population is close to a million inhabitants. Recently, Antalya became the third most visited city in the world by number of international arrivals, just behind Paris and London. The town center with its narrow cobbled streets of historic Ottoman era houses, the old center of Antalya has been restored to retain much of its historical character.
The Old City of Rhodes has been delegated a World Heritage Site. Some speculate that after the Acropolis of Athens and the Volcano of Santorini, Rhodes is one of the most impressive places in Greece. Wandering through the medieval city, especially on a warm evening, is one of life's treasures. The old city is closed to most traffic. The main streets and thoroughfares are full of shops and restaurants but the back streets are mostly residences. The massive walls of the city were rebuilt by the European order of Knights Hospitaller after the Turkish siege of 1480. The walls are 12 meters thick and the moat more than 21 meters wide. The length of the walls is about three miles and each section was defended by one of the Langues or tongues which corresponded to the languages spoken where the particular group of knights came from. SeaDream will dock close to the entrance of the walled city. We recommend you explore the old town and if you haven’t already done so, visit the Lindos Acropolis.

On this land adventure, discover the picturesque village of Oia and one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Mediterranean: Akrotiri Archaeological site. Could Akrotiri be the lost city of Atlantis?
One of the reasons Santorini has attracted the world’s attention is the excavation at Akrotiri, which reclaimed a whole prehistoric Minoan city from the volcanic ash. The prehistoric site of Akrotiri is on the south-western tip of the island and was discovered in 1967 by Professor Spyros Marinatos. The city was buried by the Theran volcanic eruption in the middle of the second millennium BC.
Over the years, excavations have brought into light a remarkably well-preserved site with two and three-story homes decorated with marvelous wall paintings and frescoes, an advanced drainage system and many interesting objects, artwork, pottery and furniture which give a picture of a society which was very well organized and at the peak of prosperity. This was interrupted suddenly by the eruption of the volcano, which buried the entire city. An ambitious modern bio-climatic roof top structure protects this important archaeological settlement where excavation works are still in progress.
After exploring the excavations with a guide, ride to the northeast part of the island and its most picturesque town, Oia. Built high up on the ridge of red rocks, it offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean. Take a stroll around the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny picturesque shops. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the caldera cliff and wander in the narrow streets for shopping or a cup of coffee during your free time in the village.
The guide visit ends in the town of Fira. Wander along the edge of the caldera for amazing views or wander through narrow streets with the various shops. When ready, take a cable car or walk along the path down to the small port of Skala Fira for tenders back to the SeaDream yacht.

Cruise the caldera and its volcano on a private luxury catamaran whilst enjoying the stunning views together with refreshments.
Transfer by tender to the pier in Vilhada where the captain and crew wait for your private catamaran cruise. Enjoy wine, beer, soft drinks, and appetizers on board throughout the sailing.
Take in the sea breezes and beautiful views while sailing past Red Beach, White Beach, the rock formations of Akrotiri and the lighthouse. Coming into view next will be the volcanic islands formed around 1570 BC.
Next, disembark and enjoy the beautiful otherworldly surroundings on the island of Nea Kameni. Take the opportunity to relax on the beach or walk up to the island’s crater and visit the natural hot springs, which have waters that are green and yellow due to their mineral content.
After exploring the village, board the catamaran for a journey back to the old port to tender back to the SeaDream yacht.

Become immersed in a world of legends and ancient mythology featuring Aphrodite, Goddess of Love & Beauty on this fascinating Yachting Land Adventure to Paphos. Visit these Ancient Greek and Roman ruins that are included among the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites.
Paphos, the ancient capital of Cyprus, is a focal point for those who worship the ancient Goddess of Love & Beauty, Aphrodite. From the pier you will walk a short distance to board and ride the coach for approximately 60 minutes to Paphos. On the way, time permitting, you may have a brief photo stop at Petra Tou Romiou, to spot a rugged rock near the shore which marks the birthplace of Aphrodite.
Upon entering Paphos, a stop is made at the Tomb of the Kings, an ancient necropolis carved out of solid rock and given this regal name because of its imposing character. Stairs lead down to sunken courts ringed by peristyles of Doric columns carved from the rock. Beyond the colonnade’s passages lead to rooms with alcoves for the burial chambers.
Continue on to visit the Archaeological Park located behind the picturesque fishing harbour of Paphos. Encounter spectacular treasures of Roman mosaics discovered accidentally by a ploughing farmer in 1962. Later excavations revealed an extensive complex of Roman buildings fitted with exquisite floor mosaics showing episodes from ancient mythology and considered among the best found in the Eastern Mediterranean. The evocative scenes reflect the wealth and opulence of Imperial Rome. Your tour visits the mosaic complex known as House of Dionysus, named after the presence of the God Dionysus in the scenes depicted. Afterwards, rejoin your coach for the return to Limassol and your waiting SeaDream yacht.

Learn about the history of wine production in Cyprus by visiting a popular local winery and discover a picturesque traditional village where traditions and history come alive in a memorable way.
Departing Limassol by coach you will travel approximately 40 minutes hrough the scenic Phassouri citrus plantations and pass by the Castle of Kolossi. where Commandaria wine was produced by the Knights of St John. The coach will then ascend the lower foothills of the Troodos Mountains to the Zambartas Winery for a tour and wine tasting. This winery produces approximately ten varieties of wine, including organic wines. Enjoy a guided walk through the winery and learn the detailed production steps of wine making. At the conclusion of the guided tour, you will have a tasting of 3 wines (white, rose & red) produced from local grape varieties with explanations about the wine and their tasting notes along with bread, olive oil, Halloumi cheese & fresh fruit.
Continue up the Troodos Mountain foothills to the picturesque village of Omodhos. At Omodhos you will visit the large, cobbled square which is dominated by the Monastery of the Holy Cross believed to contain relics of the Crucifixion donated by St Helena. After visiting the Monastery, you will see the traditional wine press where the guide will explain how wine used to be made in the village. Afterwards, enjoy a local snack of Cyprus coffee and traditional bread made in the village at one of the village coffee shops followed by some free time to explore the village on your own. The return drive back down the hills towards Limassol port offers panoramic views of Limassol bay.

Drive to Kibbutz Gesher for lunch in a member’s house. On the menu are dishes made from the produce of the garden and some of the favourite Israeli foods. Try your hand at making tahina – Israel's favorite condiment. Made from sesame seeds, tahina can be served by itself or added as a major ingredient to hummus, baba ghanoush, and halva. In this condensed workshop, prepare and learn the difference between traditional, green and pink tahina.

Less than an hour drive from Ashdod port, at the foothills of the Judea mountains, lies one of Irael’s up and coming wine regions. Dozens of charming boutique wineries are scattered throughout this area. Behind each of these wineries there is a fascinating life story, a great love for wine, good people, and a stunning view. Many of the wineries use local vineyards for the production of their vintages, located on the land of historic Judea from which grapes have been harvested for thousands of years.
Not only will you learn about the wines, but also hear the rich biblical history of this region, about the fight between David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah and Joshua’s war against the Canaanites. Explore Antalya on foot with your knowledgeable guide during this half day stroll of the Old City.
Kaleici (the old city) and historic city center of Antalya, until modern times, had the entire city confined within its walls. Inside are structures dating from the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman and modern Turkish republican eras. Most of it however, dates to the late 18th and 19th centuries.
First, view Hadrian's Gate, a triumphal three arched gate that was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited Antalya in the year 130. Formerly the city walls enclosed the outside of the gate and it was not used for many years. This may be the reason why it has not been harmed, and it was only revealed when the walls collapsed. It is considered as Pamphylia's most beautiful Gate.
Next, visit the Yivli Minare Mosque. The mosque's fluted minaret, which is decorated with dark blue tiles, is a landmark and symbol of the city. The mosque was first built in 1230 and fully reconstructed in 1373. The minaret is 125 feet high, built on a square stone base, with eight fluted sections and has 90 steps to the top. The first building may have been a Byzantine church originally and may have been converted into a mosque around 1225-7, during the reign of the Seljuk sultan Ala ad-Din Kay Qubadh I. The original mosque was destroyed in the 14th century and a new mosque was built which, with its six domes, is one of the oldest examples of multi-dome construction in Anatolia.
Then, you will view Hidirlik Tower, believed that the ruling Roman Empire built this in the second century on a square plan. The same century, it was turned into circular tower. It has since been used as a fortification or a lighthouse. The tower is situated at the southern side of the place, where the land walls of the city join the sea walls.
Your last stop will be the Old Bazaar, or Iki Kapili Han, to explore and shop before the return drive back to your yacht at the port.

Visit the major historical sites of the Antalya region. Aspendos Theater is one of the best preserved in the world and the Ancient City of Perge is another gem amongst the amazing history Turkey has to offer.
Visit the ancient cities of Perge and Aspendos to view Roman and Hellenistic ruins. Perge contains ruins that date back to 1000 BC. The theatre seated 14,000 and its ruins are in relatively good condition. Here, worship of Artemis was far more important than that of the male gods, and the dominant motif used in art and on coins was Artemis of Perge. See the Basilica of Perge, the 2nd-century stadium, the Roman Gate located on the outer wall, the Baths complex, and the Hellenistic Gate. A colonnaded street stretches from the gate to the Nymphaeum, and the agora (marketplace) is a small rectangle surrounded by shops. Aspendos, the major port city in the Roman period, was founded on a hilltop near the Eurymedon River and later spread down to the plain. Only parts of the city have been excavated but the Roman Theatre is the best preserved in the Mediterranean. Its capacity is estimated at 20,000 people. From a distance you will see the remains of a marketplace, a basilica, shops and a Nymphaeum. Water was brought to the city through a spectacular aqueduct of which four long sections are very well preserved. After your visit, return to Antalya and your SeaDream yacht.

Enjoy a guided walk to the city walls and through the narrow, cobblestone streets of the medieval UNESCO Rhodes Old Town. Visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, originally built in the 14th century. The guided walk also passes the 15th-century Hospital of the Knights, which now houses the Archaeological Museum. This tour offered exclusively to National Geographic travelers, consists of a marine biology experience and a trip to Alimia Island. The excursion will be led by experts in the field, who will help you understand the human threats to the marine ecosystem. The small group will travel via private rib boat, allowing easy access into the sea to explore the coastline.
The first stop is Skala in Kamiros where the marine biology experience begins. From there, head to Makri Island by private rib boat. There will be a brief presentation on marine biology to gain an understanding of Aquaculture and food production, and its importance in relation to food safety. Understand everyday farm management practices and the steps of the production cycle. Gain insight into how human activities impose threats to the marine environment as well as ways to diminish these impacts, while offering examples such as Blutopia’s own fish farm where instead of polluting, they strengthen the biodiversity of the area.
Next, visit Strongyli Island, a Natura 2000 area, and visit LAMAR fish farm, located inside a protected area—an exclusive treat for those who love the sea and marine life. Operating at the highest standards, the fish farm contributes to the preservation and flourishing of a rich aquatic environment around the island, where a vibrant ecosystem prospers. Snorkel around and inside the fish farm cages, where you’ll witness up close the role of aquaculture and how it integrates with the natural ecosystem. Following the theory, you’ll observe the wildlife around the cages, the role of invasive species and general threats of the marine environment.
The next destination is Alimia Island, another Natura 2000 area, which was inhabited from the antiquity until the mid-20th century. You’ll explore the crystal blue waters and rich marine life, but also many interesting relics which are spread from the ruins of the island’s medieval castle. With its diverse coastline that engulfs pristine beaches and challenging diving sites, it is the perfect destination for adventurers and travelers alike.

Experience fun and adventure in the countryside of Rhodes island, by driving a 4x4 vehicle through traditional Greek villages. See the olive groves, green hills and forests plus catching glimpses of the sparkling Aegean Sea.
The 4x4 vehicles will be parked on the pier. Starting from the port and following a lead vehicle, you will drive through the west coast of the island passing by the bay of Trianda where all the main resort hotels are located. See the quaint village of Lalissos and Kremasti as the route takes you inland towards the villages of Maritsa and Psinthos. At Psinthos there will be a brief stop to visit the scenic village and take some pictures of the lively village square.
Continuing the adventure, the 4x4’s depart the asphalt road and take a secondary off road driving for about 40 minutes over the hills and the pine tree forest. Next stop will be Archipoli where refreshments, coffee and a variety of traditional Greek local delicacies will be enjoyed. Afterwards you will continue driving on roads to the beach of Afandou (or Tsabika Beach) for a 30-minute swim stop in the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea. After the swim, the driving route continues through the main east coast road for your return to Rhodes town and the SeaDream yacht at the pier.

Not recommended for travelers with back problems, who are pregnant, with heart conditions or other serious medical issues. Please wear comfortable shoes and sunhats. Bring your swimming suits and towels if you plan to swim. The 4x4 vehicles are manual gear and are self-driven. There is also a leading jeep with a professional instructor/escort. Guests driving on this tour need to bring a valid driver’s license. Price is per person and based on 2 guests per jeep.
Crete is an island of contrasts. Cosmopolitan and over developed in some parts, rough and unspoiled and wild in other parts. When traveling through the interior, notice the scenery is constantly changing and includes harsh barren land as well as lush woods.
Depart the city of Heraklion for the hillside village of Thrapsano. This village is renowned throughout Crete for its traditional pottery workshops and still produces the traditional storage jars ("pitharia") little changed from the Minoan era. Watch the local potters at work and admire their traditional pottery making techniques.
Continue on to the village of Peza which has been at the center of one of the most important wine growing areas of Crete since Minoan times. See the traditional vineyards and visit the winery before sampling some of the local produce.
At the end of the visit, enjoy a panoramic drive of the city of Heraklion before returning to the pier.

Knossos was the court of the legendary King Minos, whose wife Pasiphae gave birth to the Minotaur, half-bull, half-man. The excavations on the site were begun by the English archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans and his team in 1893 and lasted 35 years.
Entering the Great Palace through the West Court, it is easy to understand why the legend of the labyrinth originated here. It takes about one hour and a half to walk around the site and explore all the parts of the Palace. During this walking tour, admire in the superb Royal Quarters the Throne room with an Antechamber and main throne and the Queen’s Quarters whose wall above the entrance door is decorated with a copy of the famous dolphin frescoes. Apart from the Royal Palace there are also other buildings included in the site such as the Small Palace, the House of the High Priest and the Caravanserai.
This excursion also includes a visit to one of the most interesting and richest museums in the world, the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion. This Museum houses nearly all the finds from the Minoan era including the marvelous frescoes form the Royal Palace of Knossos.
