Ports

  • Philipsburg
    Philipsburg

Philipsburg is the main town on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. The town is situated on a narrow stretch of land between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond. Philipsburg was founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch navy. The settlement soon became a center for international trade. The main shopping district is located on Front Street and is in the heart of the city. Many consider Philipsburg to be the best shopping opportunity in the Caribbean. Depending on the traffic, SeaDream has the option to anchor or dock alongside. One of the highlight activities may be to participate in the America’s Cup 12 Metre Regatta.

  • Sint Eustatius
    Sint Eustatius

Unveil the Caribbean’s hidden treasure, a small island discovered in the 1700s named Sint Eustatius. Originally a trading hub for sugar and cotton, the island has now become a must-see landscape. This castaway-like frontier hosts a range of natural jewels including dazzling reefs, brimming marine life, and historical wrecks of the island’s capital, Oranjestad, which is now mostly submerged.

  • Falmouth Bay
    Falmouth Bay

Falmouth Bay is a short walk from Nelson's Dockyard and the English Harbour. Historic buildings and mills surround it. This harbor and the quiet village has plenty of shops, restaurants and the yacht club. Historic sites, tasty cuisine and a lively cultural scene can all be found on Antigua. But most often it's the beauty and versatility of the island's 365 beaches that draw travelers from afar. Land Adventure possibilities include a helicopter ride over Montserrat, a jeep and snorkel safari and a St. John’s City and shopping exploration.

  • Sandy Ground
    Sandy Ground

This British Overseas Territory is becoming more popular due to the incredible resort options as well as world recognized beaches and amazing golf. SeaDream offers an opportunity to tee off, swim with dolphins or for the energetic, bike around the island with the Captain or Club Director. Naturally, we will also offer water sports while we are anchored off Sandy Ground.

  • Gustavia
    Gustavia

Perhaps our most treasured destination in the Caribbean! This small island belonging to the French West Indies has so much to offer our SeaDream guests. Incredible shopping only steps away from the pier. Incredible beaches, resorts, restaurants and activities both day and night. SeaDream has created various land adventures for you to discover the island from sea or land. Ask one of the officers to take you on a hike or bike ride around the island. Another great activity here is to simply relax and watch all of the incredible yachts arriving and departing just off your SeaDream yacht.

  • Soper's Hole, Tortola
    Soper's Hole, Tortola

This marina on Tortola's West End retained its quaint charm while being a center of activity and voted the best marina in the BVIs. Soper's Hole imparts a great sense of place and physical intimacy and is considered one of the most picturesque marinas in the Caribbean. SeaDream is offering several land adventures including, snorkeling, scuba diving, land rover safari and swimming with the dolphins. For guests wanting some extra activity, ask the Captain or Club Director to set up a bike ride to Road Town along the coastal road. For guests wanting to simply shop or explore the marina, we suggest checking out Pusser’s Landing along with the cute boutiques.

  • Norman Island
    Norman Island

Norman Island is located at the southern tip of the British Virgin Islands. It could very well be the very same island reputed to be the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate novel Treasure Island. It is said that the island was named after a pirate who purchased it at some point during the early 18th century. The island is uninhabited and privately owned by Dr Henry Jarecki. Its area is about 600 acres (2.4 km²), and it is about 2.5 miles (4 km) long. A large harbor is known as "The Bight" offers one of the most protected anchorages in the area. Guests will enjoy some great hiking opportunities as well as snorkeling and scuba diving. Another attractive option may be to check out the Willie T that is generally anchored in the harbor or simply have a beverage at the Pirates Bight Bar.

  • White Bay, Jost van Dyke
    White Bay, Jost van Dyke

The BVI’s barefoot island and home of the "Painkiller" drink. Population depends on the month – typically 250-300. This is another SeaDream destination where you may be served Champagne and Caviar in the surf followed by a beach barbecue lunch. A hike is always offered to guests to visit the famous Foxy’s Bar at Great Harbour (hopefully, the boutique is open) or you can stroll a few meters down the beach to the Soggy Dollar Bar. Snorkeling equipment is provided as well as some of our water toys!

  • Sint Eustatius - Hiking “The Quill”

    Description

The Quill, perfectly symmetrical, with hills that rise majestically from the landscape to a height of almost 2,000 feet (600 meters) above sea level and your ultimate hiking destination is the rim of this imposing dormant volcano.

Meet your guide at the pier and take the transportation to Rosemary Lane for the starting point of the hike. The tropical island of St Eustatius has its own unique natural history. There are distinctive ecosystems and habitats teeming with rare and exotic life to be observed on this nature hike. See the Statia Morning Glory, an extremely rare and beautiful herbaceous vine, growing nowhere else in the world – and endures here as the symbol of this island. The most eye-catching tree on Statia is the kapok. With its trunk sometimes measuring feet in diameter, it rests on an impressive network of roots below and sticking out above the ground.

Take in the magnificent view from the top of the Quill crater and don’t forget your camera to capture this moment. Your guide will lead you around the crater’s rim and then travel down inside the volcano for a short distance. Revealed inside this mysterious crater is a completely overgrown tropical, pocket-sized rainforest. Teeming with giant elephant ear plants growing along the trail, admire the delicate tree ferns, begonias, and wild balsam. Inside the Quill there can be spotted bromeliads (related to the pineapple), trumpet wood, mahogany, seedless breadfruit, Suriname cherry, ginger bush, and edible blackberries. Pause for a refreshment along the hike and return to the SeaDream yacht full of the stories learned about the beautiful Quill Volcano of Sint Eustatius.

    Notes

Remember to bring your SeaDream Walking sticks, wear hiking boots or sturdy walking shoes. This is a strenuous hike; guests should be physically fit to participate. This hike does not go down to the bottom of the crater, however it does hike along the rim and inside top area. • Gustavia - St Barts Snorkeling

    Description

Take a rib boat ride across the harbor to snorkel near a reef while observing reef fish and marine life in the crystal-clear waters off St Barts. Keep an eye out for green sea turtles, an endangered but relatively abundant species in these waters.

From the pier side in Gustavia Harbor, you will board an open-air rib boat to begin this excursion. The captain will determine where the best site is to anchor, based upon the weather and sea conditions of the day. If possible, the snorkeling will be just outside the harbor to maximize your snorkeling time. This is where the waters are usually crystal-clear and filled with reef fish. You may spot brilliantly colored angelfish, large groupers, and schools of queen triggerfish. One of the most curious-looking species is the four-eye butterflyfish, which is named for the two dark spots – or false eyes – on the sides of its tail, which are meant to confuse predators. The endangered green sea turtles also gracefully swim these waters too. You may see them feeding on the seagrass and algae on the reef. They are known as being the largest of all sea turtles and the only ones that are herbivores.

After your time in the water, you will climb aboard the rib boat ladder for the journey back to the pier and the tender waiting to return you to your SeaDream yacht. Alternatively, you can stay in town and browse the shops to return on your own when ready.

    Notes

Guests should be good swimmers and MUST be in good physical condition to get on and off the boat using a ladder with 6 steps. While turtle and fish sightings are very likely, they cannot be guaranteed.

This excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility concerns and back or neck problems. Please wear your bathing suit and coverup, and comfortable flat walking shoes. • Gustavia - St Barts Snorkeling "ADDITIONAL SPACE"

    Description

**Due to the popularity of this Yachting Land Adventure, additional space for prebooking has been added on this voyage.**

There are no changing room, or restroom, available on the boat. Don't forget a towel, hat, and sunglasses. Snorkeling equipment will be provided. Guest will be required to sign liability waiver.
