El Nicho Waterfalls

El Nicho Waterfalls

Located inside the Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes, approximately 1 hour from Cienfuegos, El Nicho is without question a place to enjoy nature’s beauty at its best. The local microclimate of the park allows more than 100 species of birds, which stand out for their colorful plumage and the melody of their singing, to thrive here.

Start this ecological overview with a Cuban expert guide as you are transferred to the Sierra del Escambray Mountain Range. Once you arrive, begin your journey with a walk along Kingdom of the Waters trail through lush vegetation with giant ferns and local wildlife. During the walk, your specialized Cuban guide will provide opportunities to learn about and watch endemic species such as the smallest bird in the world, the bee hummingbird (Mellisuga helenae) and the tocororo, the Cuban national bird (Cuban Trogon).

Saving the best for last, you will enjoy the highlight of the experience, El Nicho, a breathtaking waterfall approximately 49 feet tall, which offers refreshing natural pools to relax and cool down after the walk. Enjoy a light picnic with snacks and refreshments before starting the return walk back to the bus that returns to the yacht.
