Caldera de Taburiente National Park
Caldera de Taburiente National Park
Walking along this amazing crater is THE must-see activity on the island. We hope you will join us.
Leaving your yacht, pass through the island's capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma, a town with an important
protected old area noted for its traditional wooden balconies. From here, continue to Las Nieves, for a visit of the church of the Lady of the Snow, protector of the island, with an important silver altar and a collection of 16th-century Flemish art. After this head to El Paso, the visitor centre of the national park, Caldera de Taburiente.
Start your visit with a walk to the Mirador de la Combrecita viewpoint, situated in the national park at an
altitude of 1,287m/4,247 feet above sea level. Then, do not miss the scenic 45-minute walk along the wall of the caldera.
Following the visit to the national park, continue to the Mirador la Concepcion viewpoint in BreƱa Alta.
From here, you are offered fantastic views over the whole east side of La Palma, as far as the capital, Santa Cruz, and right into the crater, La Caldereta. About 20 minutes later you arrive back at the pier in Santa Cruz.
Notes: Please wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring some protection from a possible rain shower. Don't forget
your camera!
