Otranto Coastal Drive & Gastronomy
This spectacular coastal drive of the Apulia region shows you many of the highlights with photo stops and includes a visit of an ancient family-run winery with a tasting of it’s wine and local specialties at the conclusion. The coastal road from Otranto is one of the most spectacular panoramic routes of Apulia. Discover “the heal of the boot” scenery, enjoying landscapes of breathtaking beauty and admire the charming towns and villages on the coast. Pass Santa Cesarea Terme with its bizarre “Villa Sticchi” in Arabic style. See the picturesque small town of Castro Marina and Porto Miggiano with its crystal-clear sea water and beautiful bay (photo-stops only, no visits). After the panoramic coastal tour, head to the small village of Scorrano for a visit of the "Azienda Agraria Duca Carlo Guarini", a farming enterprise which is still today run by the descendants of the noble family of the Guarinis. This family originally came from Normandy and settled in Salento in the 11th century A.D. Here you will visit the wine-cellar and the underground-oil mill of the 15th century literally dug out of the stone. At the end of the tour we will enjoy a wine tasting and typical Apulian products before returning to the yacht.
