Varna Highlights

This Yachting Land Adventure of Varna starts with a visit to the Archaeological Museum which houses the finds from the Varna Calcolithic Necropolis containing the oldest worked-up by man gold (4th millennium BC) - the archaeological sensation of the 20th century. Some of the gold pieces display an incredible degree of skill considering that they were made as long as 6000 years ago. There is a permanent display of icons and church items in a special hall where you will have an exclusive choir performance during your visit.
Continue for a visit to the “Assumption” Cathedral whose graceful lines are inseparable part of the cityscape. Admire the interior decorated with beautiful murals and woodcarving and the typical atmosphere for an East Orthodox church in operation – heavy with incense flavor and sonorous chanting.
The journey continues by bus along the coast to Aladzha Rock Monastery - one of the hundreds of mediaeval (13-14 c.) rock monasteries in the North-East part of Bulgaria. The monastery is located amidst lush greenery creating a mysterious atmosphere. The monastery layout is arranged on two levels that have been cut in an almost 40-meters high sheer limestone rock. Once, the monastery was reached only by means of stairs which in case of danger could be withdrawn. After the visit you return back to your yacht in port.
