Enjoy this one of a kind experience, nighttime kayaking in Mosquito Bay, at one of the world’s brightest Bioluminescent Bays.
From the small fishing village of Esperanza, you will take a short bus ride to Mosquito Bay where you are met by your guides. They will provide a thorough pre-training covering all aspects of the tour and operation of the kayaks. Once inside your double kayaks and under the blanket of night sky, you will watch the sparkling swirls of water created by the paddles’ flow through the water and search for streaks of light created by darting fish around you. Continue paddling across the bay learning about the mangrove forests, wildlife that inhabits the area and the marine life that uses the lagoon as their sanctuary. Learn what gives the water its mysterious light and the different ecosystems found in the area. Tiny organisms known as dinoflagellates create the mysterious blue-green light. A trip into the bay is a magical and educational experience not to be missed when in Vieques in the evening.

Kayaks have a maximum weight capacity of 385 lbs. per kayak, with some larger ones accommodating up to 450 lbs. If you request a kayak for one person, or if your combined weight per kayak exceeds 385 lbs., please notify us by adding your details in the optional Booking Number field. Prices are based on two guests per kayak, therefore please purchase two tickets for a single kayak. Local transportation to and from the pier uses standard vehicles on a short, roughly 10-minute journey, sometimes over gravel roads. We recommend wearing water shoes or flip-flops for boarding the kayak in ankle-deep water, wear light jacket or rash guard with long sleeves as it can get cool while kayaking during the night. The bioluminescence bay experience remains captivating even under the moonlight.
A minimum number of participants are required to operate this adventure and space is very limited. All adventures in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change. Final departure times will be published on-board.
