Meet your guide and private vehicle pier side for the transfer to Chora which is the capital of the island. Your guided tour begins at the Castro in Chora. Ramble through the narrow streets taking in the local community feel of this hilltop village with beautiful views to the sea while learning about the history of this scenic village. The hike will join the road and pass below Pantanassa chapel and the Agios Savvas chapel until reaching the historic church of Stavros.
Next, you’ll hike on a footpath, heading south-west up to the Christos Chapel. After Christos, and with an open view to the sea, the footpath becomes narrower and more challenging, descending towards the picturesque bay of Fira. After a short pause, continue the footpath that leads along a coastal route following a rocky and steep landscape down to the picturesque and popular bay of Aggali. Here you have time for a swim at this beach and to enjoy a refreshment before boarding your vehicle for the return to Chora if you wish to explore further or stay onboard the vehicle to return directly to your SeaDream yacht’s tender pier.
Notes: Participants should be in good physical condition. This tour involves extensive walking on uneven terrain, rocky, narrow, downhill paths to the beach. Please be sure to wear comfortable clothing, good hiking/walking shoes, and walking sticks are available onboard for your use on this tour. There are no inside visits of any churches. If you plan to swim, wear your swimming gear under your clothes and bring a towel from the yacht, sunscreen, hat.
