Discover the treasures and architecture of Rabat, a newly designated UNESCO World Heritage site, on this Moroccan journey.
From the pier you will travel by bus for approximately 1 hour to the capital city of Morocco – Rabat. Located on the Atlantic coastal plain, Rabat is filled with expansive boulevards, lush gardens, and crisp white buildings. It is quite different from other Imperial cities of Morocco, but also still rich in history. Its origins date back to the 7th century, you will see many ancient monuments and remarkably preserved relics from Rabats Moorish history on this excursion.
The tour of Rabat includes a visit of the ornate Mohammed V Mausoleum containing the tombs of the late Moroccan king and his two sons. See the Hassan Tower, considered to be the largest minaret in the world. Drive past the Royal Palace, observing splendid examples of Islamic architecture in the Mechouar district. Spend some time at the Kasbah of Oudaya, a residential area and afterward you will enjoy a delicious lunch of Moroccan cuisine before returning to the yacht in Casablanca.
Notes: There is extensive walking of approximately 1.5 miles (2.5 km) sometimes over cobbled, bumpy, uphill surfaces, with approximately 60 steps and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or those who utilize a wheelchair. Please wear conservative attire, covered shoulders, long pants, and comfortable shoes. Tour sequence may vary. Mind your belongings at all times, particularly in crowded places.
