Lofoten Fishing Village in Å
Lofoten Fishing Village in Å
Visit the outermost Lofoten Island of Å, known to be one of the most authentic and traditional fishing villages. Just a short drive away you will come to the end of the international road network which begins in Sweden and ends in Å. Take a scenic walk to the furthest vantage point offering a view of the majestic and rugged scenery of the Lofoten Islands.
At the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum of Å you will be taken on a guided tour so that you can experience the everyday life at the Lofoten fisheries over the last 250 years. The exhibitions are located in a 100–200-year-old architectural environment in the harbour and include the old stone oven bakery, traditional wooden boats, cod liver oil factory, home of a fisherman family, blacksmith and grocery store. Enjoy some refreshments in the Brygga Restaurant, offering a picture-perfect window view to the surrounding islands.
