Travel by motorcoach through the bucolic landscapes of Provence to the charming old town of Aix en Provence, approximately one hour away. Few towns are as beautifully preserved as this traditional capital of Provence, elegant, historic, and rich in cultural heritage. Aix en Provence proudly claims two of France’s most celebrated creative figures: the Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne and the novelist Émile Zola.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the cobblestone lanes of the Vieux Aix, the old town, as you make your way toward the famed Cours Mirabeau. Lined with graceful plane trees, this lively avenue marks the transition between the medieval streets to the north and the refined 18th century mansions to the south.
Your visit continues with the Cathedral of Saint Sauveur, admired for its beautifully carved pillars and slender colonnades. Afterward, free time is provided to explore the inviting cafés, boutiques, and charming surroundings at your own pace before returning to the ship.
Notes: This tour involves moderate walking over cobblestone streets, uneven surfaces, and some gentle inclines in the old town. Guests should be comfortable walking and standing for extended periods. Due to the terrain and layout of Aix en Provence, the tour is not recommended for guests using wheelchairs or with significant mobility limitations. The drive from Sanary to Aix en Provence is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures, and some have limited capacity.
