Discover Porto on foot, where centuries of history unfold through grand avenues, tiled façades, and riverfront vistas. Following a scenic drive into the city center, begin at the iconic Clérigos Tower, a masterpiece of 18th-century Baroque design. Pause for photographs as your guide introduces the monument’s significance before continuing past the famed Lello Bookstore, whose ornate façade and neo-Gothic architecture make it one of the city’s most admired landmarks.
Stroll along Avenida dos Aliados, Porto’s stately central boulevard framed by elegant civic buildings that reflect the city’s architectural evolution. Continue to São Bento Railway Station, where vast panels of blue-and-white azulejo tiles illustrate defining moments of Portugal’s past. From here, follow Rua das Flores, a lively pedestrian street animated by cafés and boutiques, as you descend toward the Ribeira district.
In Ribeira, Porto’s medieval heart, wander narrow cobbled lanes that open onto sweeping views of the Douro River. Across the water, the iron arches of the Dom Luís I Bridge frame the skyline in one of the city’s most celebrated panoramas. After time at leisure to absorb the atmosphere along the waterfront, return by coach to the pier, carrying with you a rich sense of Porto’s architectural beauty and enduring character.
Notes: Guests must be able to walk for extended periods and embark and disembark the motor coach without assistance. The tour includes approximately 1.5 km / 1 mile of walking over uneven surfaces and cobblestones, with inclines, downhill sections, and steps at various points throughout the historic center. The drive to and from Porto is approximately 45 minutes each way. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
A minimum number of participants is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures, and some may have limited capacity.
