Here, in an intimate setting reserved exclusively for your group, an in-house diamond expert welcomes you behind the scenes of bespoke diamond creation. Within this working “mood room,” you will observe rough stones alongside polished gems and learn how each diamond is evaluated, selected, and prepared for cutting before it ever becomes part of a finished jewel.
During this in-depth session, the expert demonstrates the stages of transformation from unpolished crystal to precisely cut diamond, explaining grading standards, clarity characteristics, and the craftsmanship involved in shaping each stone. You will handle sample stones and examine them up close while discovering how Antwerp became the world’s leading diamond trading center, with centuries of merchants, cutters, and polishers shaping its global reputation.
The experience concludes with a glass of champagne, offering time to ask questions and explore the atelier’s refined creations at your own pace. At the end of the visit, you may choose to remain in town to continue exploring independently or walk back to the yacht with your guide through Antwerp’s historic streets. This exclusive experience provides direct insight into the artistry, heritage, and technical precision that define the city’s legendary diamond trade.
Notes: This tour involves approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) of walking in total, including the route between the pier at Het Steen and the jewelry atelier. The walk is approximately 15 minutes each way and is required in both directions. The excursion is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Streets in Antwerp’s historic center are often paved with cobblestones and may be uneven underfoot. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Guests must be 18 years of age or older to be served alcoholic beverages. As this is an intimate experience limited to a small group, early booking is advised to secure participation.
