Parga and The Art of Olive Oil
Parga and The Art of Olive Oil
Departing from Syvota, you travel by vehicle along the coastal route to the town of Parga, arriving at the Paragea Old Olive Oil Factory-Museum. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the owner before beginning a guided visit through the museum’s various areas. The presentation focuses on the traditional methods of olive oil production, with explanations of the process and its correct use. During the visit, you will sample different qualities of olive oil while observing the original equipment and techniques that reflect the region’s long-standing connection to this product.
Following the museum visit, you remain on site for a meal served in a dedicated area of the property. The menu includes a selection of local specialties, accompanied by wine and mineral water, beginning with a welcome drink of fresh homemade lemonade. The setting allows for a continuation of the experience, linking the production of olive oil with its use in regional cuisine.
Afterwards, you proceed into Parga town for free time to explore its narrow streets and small alleys at your own pace. The town’s layout offers a mix of paved pathways and steps as you move through the harbor area and surrounding streets. At the conclusion of your visit, you rejoin your vehicle for the return drive to Syvota, where your yacht awaits.
Notes: This tour involves moderate walking on both flat and uphill paved terrain, including steps at the olive oil museum. In Parga town, walking takes place on paved surfaces with flat steps ascending and descending. The town is built on a hillside, and guests should expect sloping streets throughout. Walking areas may also include narrow pathways and sections of uneven surfaces in parts of the old town.
