Farm to Table at the Tower Estate
Farm to Table at the Tower Estate
Depart from the cruise terminal for the short drive to the Tower Estate, a historic Great House set atop a small peak in the Parish of St. George. Chef Belinda Bishop and her team will welcome you with local fruit juice and water before introducing you to the stone residence, with its mahogany ceilings, handcrafted panelled walls, period antiques, and distinctive collection of maps and prints connected to Grenada’s past. The house is surrounded by landscaped gardens filled with tropical flowering trees, shrubs, fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and spices.
Continue into the Tower Estate’s Natural Gardens for a guided farm-to-table experience. As you walk through the property, learn about the fruits, herbs, spices, and vegetables cultivated on the estate and select seasonal ingredients directly from the garden. Chef Bishop, founder of Flavours of Grenada®, and her team will then lead a beverage demonstration and cooking experience, during which guests will assist with the preparation of an authentic Grenadian lunch using produce gathered from the estate.
The experience concludes with a freshly prepared Creole meal served family-style in the historic Great House, with the chefs joining the group at the table. Surrounded by period furnishings and details reflecting Grenada’s history, enjoy the dishes created from the estate’s ingredients. After lunch, there will be time to browse local products, stroll quietly through the gardens, or use the restroom facilities before returning to the yacht.
Notes: Guests will follow a step-by-step farm-to-table experience through the Tower Estate’s Natural Gardens, where they will have the opportunity to pick aromatic spices and exotic vegetables to be used in the preparation of food and drinks demonstrated by Grenadian chefs. The minimum age is 12 years. The venue includes 12 stairs, the Great House has concrete and wooden flooring, and the garden portion takes place on grass and trails. Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for the garden are recommended, together with an umbrella and insect repellent. The tour is not accessible to guests with limited mobility. Transportation is operated by a driver-guide for the short transfer, after which guests will join Chef Belinda and her team at the estate.
