Your experience unfolds in the heart of Provence, where a beautifully preserved medieval village and a renowned Bandol wine property offer a captivating blend of history, culture, and flavor. Your journey begins with a scenic coach transfer from the pier to the hilltop village of Le Castellet, a quintessential Provençal gem. Perched above rolling vineyards, this beautifully preserved stronghold, once owned by the Lords of Les Baux, features ancient ramparts, a meticulously restored 12th‑century church, and a castle dating back in part to the 11th century.
Entering through the fortified gates of Le Portail and Le Portalet, you will stroll through the village’s narrow, winding streets toward the historic castle, now serving as the town hall. Along the way, admire the striking stained‑glass windows of the Saint‑Sauveur Church before reaching the viewpoint known as the Trou de Madame, offering sweeping vistas toward the Sainte‑Baume massif and the Paul Ricard Circuit. A period of leisure time allows you to browse the village’s charming artisan workshops, featuring local crafts such as pottery, painting, and metalwork.
Your excursion continues as you travel to Domaine de la Frégate, or a similar esteemed estate, situated in the heart of the renowned Bandol wine region. Here, you will delve into the traditions of Provençal winemaking, learning about the estate’s heritage dating back to 1882. Enjoy a guided tasting of local wines and regional specialties, including olive oil and light finger foods. This enriching experience offers a delightful immersion into the flavors and culture of Provence before you return to the yacht.
Notes: If Domaine Begude is not available on the day of our call, a similar Domaine will be visited instead. This excursion must be booked 72 Hours (3 days) prior to arrival in the port to confirm its operation during your voyage.
