A Stroll Through Sinop
A Stroll Through Sinop
Beautiful golden icons, coins, clay, glass, stone, metal objects and ceramics are on display at the Archaeological Museum of Sinop. Here, you will be fascinated by these and other relics dating back to the Hittite, Hellenistic, Phrygian, Roman and Byzantine periods. Also, don’t miss the special display of prehistoric objects, along with ethnographic carpets and other cultural items. The museum’s courtyard contains masonry, stones, sarcophagi and inscriptions.
Then you will have a short walk to the Ethnography Museum where you can see the earthenware with handles, vases with stands, other artifacts such as axes and spearheads and jewelry pertinent to the Bronze Age. On the gallery of museum, various coins from the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods accompany the shipwreck found in the Black Sea.
At the end of the Land Adventure, take time to stroll around the old castle area, and invest, if you like, in the beautiful handmade nautical wood carvings for which Sinop is well known. At this point, you and your fellow SeaDreamers will walk back to the pier and your yacht.
